The company might be good, i just had this truck 107 wouldn’t let me pass him blocking passing lane, than I tried to go on right lane he came back about to hit me I had to drive on shoulder… miles ahead same truck blocked me again Sunday morning 2:30 am on 81 north in Virginia
Hello one of your guys on i84 in Idaho. Is going in and out of traffic cutting off vehicles. There are ways to pass other truckers without putting people in danger. Now I didn't see a number to call so I'm putting it on here. Please talk to your driver's before they cause an accident.
I just started driving for these guys and I must say they’re alright with me they’re very organized willing to help gets straight to the point and put you to work asap like it supposed to be the equipment is A1 nicely spec’d trucks and trailers loads are pre planned etc etc it seems they have it together here and I hope I’m here for the long run!!!
We were actually doing work for this company. The people that work at MRT were totally awesome and were very hard working and care about their business and employees. I would absolutely use this company.
Great company to work for, just hate when you get stuck in California because the shippers out there cater to others more than you
As an OTR team driver for MRT, this is what I have experienced. I work with the company on a weekly basis. A typical day at work while traveling to the west coast is okay. Concerning the backhaul. Dealing with 2-5 pick-ups is the start of your stressful day. Furthermore, the pick ups are spaced out by 2-4 hours. Arriving before the shipper closes means you'll have to wait for a long time between pickups. Management recognizes that you have multiple pick-ups in California. The driver will speed through California to reach the pick-up location to avoid waiting 8-9 hours for shippers to open the next morning. Management will not reimburse you for detention/layover pay if you don't check in before shippers close. Drivers are required to wait 4-6 hours for loading before any detention pay kicks in, even if they check in. Waiting for the pick up is the most challenging part of the job. Understand that people will say this is trucking. We are compensated for our mileage, not our sitting. Considering that there are 2-4 pick-ups. It's not uncommon for each pickup to take 4-6 hours to load you. If you arrive late for your next pickup. Your home time will be delayed as Shippers require you to reschedule your appointment! There are drivers who will praise their pay and equipment as good! You, the driver, are the source of it all! We are the ones who are struggling with being away from our loved ones, waiting at the shipper, and going to multiple pick-up locations! Some drivers live close by the terminal, of course, 34 hours reset still is considered a good home time. Drivers who live hours away from the terminal that 34 resets feel like sleeping at home and coming back out again!
My advice would be, unless it’s the last resort steer clear of this company. It was Great 14 years ago in my husband first started working for the company. But when certain people left, and Pete stepped away from the company, it took a nose Dive. They used to care about their drivers, now they talk about them behind their back. The dispatchers are rude and sit there and make fun of the drivers after being nice to their face. There’s a young kid barely out of high school running the company That’s probably never been in a truck. One thing I think a lot of drivers will agree with is that if you’re gonna run a company you need to at least have some experience behind the wheel for at least a couple years to see what it’s like. They have on there, Facebook page and their website that they care about their drivers and their families. This is very much not true. Especially if you have a Family All I can say is save yourself now and run away. Bottomly enterprises is one of the best trucking companies around now And they do care about you and your family if you want to work for a real trucking company go work for them.
Disgustinggggg company. They have a driver in particular, who was texting me out of no where threatening my life. I let the company know that they have someone who confessed to be a convicted murderer to me and then threaten me, and then said employee texted me letting me know that her boss thought what I had to say was apparently funny and then continued to text and harass me. I wouldn’t trust this “family owned company” with a damn thing. Bunch of criminals apparently 🤷🏼♀️ at least I know where NOT to give my business
Pros: Equipments Cons: Home time Detention and layover pay Too many pick ups in CA and AZ Each pickup requires a long wait
Love these guys. Treat u right here
Worked here for about a year and half after getting my CDL in 2020. The office staff (Nick and Christina) are really nice and professional. Dispatch (Dale and Richard) are great guys who are really great at what they do. They never HOVER! They give you your assignment and let you do your job.
Just Came from a driving school to work with this company. all people especially dispatch and safety director are very professional. I wanted to say thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to work The only reason I decide to leave today is I can’t find the right partner(because I am weird person) I will be back when I find a right partner one day.
We came to this company two years ago because we noticed how well they took care of the trucks and trailers. We figured if they took care of their equipment, it would be a good place to work. Well, I can honestly say, we’re not disappointed! The pay is competitive, the trucks and trailers are top notch, dispatch is polite, and maintenance is done after every trip.
Fantastic work environment and great pay. Benefits are good for the area/job and runs are consistent. Trucks run well and the staff is kind.
Love the company so much I'm one of the happiest and proudest employees. Anyone looking for a great atmosphere and well maintained equipment. Not to mention decent paycheck awesome hometime and the overall family atmosphere, come on over were always looking for more folks to add to our family
When I was pregnant with my first child I went on the road with my parents and mountain river trucking is where they was working at the time.
Great place to work. Good people. Has great Dispatches, new Peterbilts. Great place to work.
What is the best part of working at the company? New equipment, great people. Family orientated. If you need time off then they will give you no hassle about it. They are just a fantastic company to work for. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? There's not nothing that stressful about the job. Just whenever you pick produce up sometimes the produce houses make you wait a little bit longer than you should. That's about the only thing I can imagine. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Everybody is friendly and happy and willing to help you with any problems that you may have. What is a typical day like for you at the company? It's just another typical day in truck driving.
I've worked for many of the local produce hauling companies locally, and I really like it here. They keep you running and don't mess with you while your home. Layover is decent could be a little better. We do have great perks like paid holiday, vacation, 401k matching, as well drive great equipment. But it's typical produce and you still a fair bit waiting on produce in California.
What is the best part of working at the company? They know you by name and not just a number. Very friendly and they work with you. They actually care What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Having to wait overnight sometimes What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Very laid back and friendly people. They actually care about their drivers What is a typical day like for you at the company? I look forward to coming to work. Where as at other companies I hated going to work because of how they would treat their drivers
The absolute best thing about the company is the equipment. They do keep it clean. The absolute worst is the number of pickups and down time. It needs to be 1 to 2 picks tops so the driver can get home. Dispatch has zero communication at least in my situation then at last minute when they need you, they blow your phone up then when you cant go you get on the bad side. Oh well. Compensation is what you'd expect for the Mt. Airy area.
They take good care of there team great home time great pay they keep u moving you get to see the USA great trucks brand new very flexible and good benifets
Everything is top notch. New equipment, great dispatchers, friendly staff. Pay is great and they care about you. Benefits are good and about on par with other trucking companies.
Its a job they dont allow advancement with pay unless you plan on leaving the company. They have no forced dispatch so thats a good thing with this company
Awesome trucks, governed at 70, will work with you with needed time off. There are a lot of pickups with produce and a lot of wasted time in California that you don’t get compensated for, but you do get extra pay the more picks you have.
If you like to team drive, and don't mind not seeing your family for 5 to seven days at a time, then I would recommend this company to you. They have good management, decent pay, and top of the line trucks. The owner is a great guy as well, especially for a rich man
Home 2 Days Per Week Decent Pay Good Equipement Easy outbound Loads. What I don't like is Time spent waiting to load produce
Great people to work for and with.. Everyone here is more like family. And the owner believes in putting the drivers 1st.. Wonderful. only con I can honestly think of, is dealing with California.
Steady work. Great equipment. Nice office staff. Hauling produce isn't for everyone. Can take a day or longer to get loaded so you can return home to NC. Also, you have to live aro
