They’ve built a solid reputation for reliability, which is something we all strive for
I’ve heard some whispers about their employee turnover rates
Amazing job. I love how everyone is encouraged to share ideas, no matter how out there they might seem
I’ve made some lifelong friends here
They resolved the issue faster than I expected
Thank you for the opportunity to work with northern logistics first Cdl job fresh out of school so far this week has been stupendous. The training is great and very detailed. I feel that this will be my first and last company I will work for. They are very knowledgeable i’m grateful to land in great company like this. I feel I will be a great fit.
I worked for Northern Logistics for about 5 years. Great Company to work for. Dispatch and operations were awesome!! They were always helpful in any situation that arose. I really enjoyed the time I worked for the company. And all the Ladies in the office were awesome too. I would recommend for anyone that is interested in working for them.
I’ve been driving with Northern for just over 3 months now. Dispatch does a good job of keeping you moving and understanding issues that you face as a driver. And the management is ran really good. Couldn’t ask for a better company to work for.
Awesome team! I went through the school and everyone worked really well together to ensure the students were receiving all of the help they needed. Really supportive through the learning process
Everyone is really nice here. That to me makes a job enjoyable is when you work with good people
I really enjoy working for this company, my dispatch team behind keeps me moving and informed on what's next I couldnt ask for a better experience thanks norlo family
Northern Logistics has been the best freight company that I have ever dealt with. Their drivers and personnel are always professional and polite. They are always on time and I could not see our company using anyone else. Thank you Northern Logisitics for all you do for us. TJ
I have with quite a few trucking companies throughout the years. Northern has been one of my favorite companies.
I've been working with Northern Logistics for about a year now. They are always able to save the day in a moment of need and be flexible with their rates. On top of all of that they have some of the best service I've seen from a carrier.
Great company that treats employees and families like they are family! Owner is amazing & always helping the employees to put God & family first!!!.
I work at ATS Fleet Service in Mt Pleasant. We found a truck for sale in California, and I asked Northern Logistics to pick it up and bring it here. Everything was perfect! Awesome service from California to Michigan, with great communication the entire turn! Thanks Team NorLo!
After 15 years of driving experience and working for 4 different companies, this is the best company I have worked for and will continue to work for a long time. If you are looking for a perfect company, you won't find it, but in my opinion, this is as close as you will get.
My friend works there WOW what a cool place. We had to wait for our friend to come back from up north and one of the guys came out to check on us 3 gals, he was so nice and kept an eye on us till our friend came in after midnight a long night but he loves working for the company. We wish there more bosses ran their business like the boss here.
Good company until you get burned out and then some of the management will talk badly about you behind your back very unprofessional do not suggest going there
Really nice people in the management department showed me around the place yesterday all because I'm looking for a job and I just walked in of the street looking for a job and he treated me like a person which was nice.
Decent pay but no overtime. They’ll push your hours to the limit, sometimes even running you out of time before arranging a way to get you home as a local driver.
Working here is absolutely miserable. They’ll tell you what you want to hear, but the moment you leave, they badmouth you to other drivers. The equipment is in terrible condition, and seniority doesn’t matter—a new hire might get a brand-new truck while a long-time employee drives an older model with 600k miles. Dispatch constantly pushes you past your breaking point.
Dispatchers are unethical and overly demanding. They pressure you to drive in unsafe conditions and expect you to waste gas driving to the yard if the roads are bad, rather than letting you call in. Otherwise, they assume you’re taking the day off and reprimand you. Management makes your life difficult if you aren’t one of their favorites. If you voice concerns, they’ll make you feel like a poor worker. Some dispatchers forget that without drivers, their jobs wouldn’t exist.
In my 1 year and 6 months at Northern, I’ve felt truly respected and connected. The company genuinely cares about its employees, addressing work or personal challenges. As an OTR driver, the work-life balance has been ideal. They’ve always granted time off, even on short notice. This safety-conscious company prioritizes transparency in its processes. I’ve recommended Northern to friends, and they’ve stayed and thrived.
Having been here for over five years, I’m very satisfied. Dispatch is understanding, and the owner genuinely cares about employees’ families, often asking if anything is needed. The culture is family-friendly with a strong emphasis on safety. The equipment is modern and well-maintained. The owner sets a high standard and genuinely cares about everyone here.
Northern has an excellent work culture. They provide company-wide safety bonuses and individual incentives. I highly recommend working here.
Northern is a fantastic place to work with opportunities for career growth. The owner is incredibly generous, and everyone—from drivers to office staff—is friendly and approachable. I see myself here long-term!
I started right out of school and received excellent training. I always got the hours I needed and time off when necessary. Management has been consistently fair and understanding.
Northern used to be a great small company, but it has changed for the worse. They micromanage under the guise of "safety" and overwork drivers. Dispatch has favorites, and communication is poor—text messages go unanswered, and load details are delayed. Drivers often work long hours for little pay, with minimal support. Unfortunately, I’m planning to leave.
Most truckers seek freedom and flexibility, but Northern micromanages every detail under the banner of "safety." Local pay is poor, and overtime isn’t compensated. They’ve lost sight of what made them great, focusing instead on extracting maximum work for minimum pay.
What is the best part of working at the company? Dispatch lacks knowledge of logbooks and hours of service, leading to broken promises about pay increases.
What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Dispatchers are combative and verbally threatening.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Very impersonal—it’s them versus you.
What is a typical day like for you at the company? Running routes and juggling additional tasks without much clarity.
It started as a great place to work, but as the company grew, veteran drivers were mistreated. Trucks are slow, schedules change without notice, and winter driving conditions are unsafe. Although the pay was good, I wouldn’t recommend working here.
Decent pay, but overtime isn’t provided. They push your hours to the limit and may even stretch your clock, leaving you to figure out how to get home as a local driver.
What is the best part of working at the company? Some employees act authoritative despite lacking any real power. Dedicated workers are treated poorly and told they have no choice but to comply.
What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Driving in winter conditions.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Solo work in the truck—it depends on your mindset. Most drivers are friendly, but trailer-side dispatch is incompetent.
What is a typical day like for you at the company? No two days are the same. Routes and hours vary wildly; one day could be 14 hours, the next only 2.
Fantastic place to work. I enjoyed the job and would recommend it—it’s fun and offers no-touch freight. However, pay is biweekly.
