Dangerous & Reckless Driver- I was driving on I5 south in Portland Oregon on Jan 05, 2023 time around 9:15 am This driver from stopped right lane traffic jumped to the left lane moving traffic. I was driving a semi truck too. He just jumped in my lane when I was hardly 30feet away from his trailer. I had to push my breaks so hard that they got heated I could smell them. Luckily I had just 3 pallets and I had secured them with straps so my load got saved. After doing this he stepped on the gas and just took off at next exit. We have his truck number, date and time we have the safety manager does something about it.

If you're a sleeper cab, enter with caution. This place is unpredictable and unsafe for sleeper cabs. Way too small. Their trailers are beat up for a reason. They have bathrooms on-site. No overnight parking. They have yard spotters if you need help.

TRUCKERS BEWARE. Been here twice for trailer pickups . Communication is 30% if best . MT go on the parking lot after hours when the employees cars are gone in front of chained gate . Your pick up trailer might be in the same lot or down at the end of the street especially if it's at night . Better to come after hours when the lots empty.

We went to pick up a pool table, it was raining and it wouldn't fit in the trailer. They cleared a place for in the warehouse to take it apart and so we could stay dry. They helped load it on the trailer and cleaned up our mess for us. They helped us out so much and they were so nice about everything I was impressed. If I ever have something shipped I'll use these guys there amazing!!

I work for Peninsula and it's a great place to work for. We are always striving to better customer service and load quality. My manager and supervisor are great people that care greatly about the customers and getting the freight to them on time and not damaged. We have dock meetings all the time to better these things. Any customer should know that we care and we truly try to get you your freight undamaged and on time. Great place to work for!!!

Worked here 6 months. Was promised a hiring bonus, never got it, when I was told I was going to get it I was then terminated( with no explanation) so they wouldn't have to pay. They don't appreciate hard working, safe drivers; they'd rather have drivers speeding through their small parking lot and being reckless.Upper management needs work but their trainers are amazing. The trainers and customers always spoke very highly of me and my work.

Real decent money to be made if you keep the door closed and keep moving. Dispatch is great, which is rare in the trucking industry. Can easily make 300-400 a day (line haul) and be home most nights.

Management at the terminal was terrible. Prepare to be making appointments for residentials yourself and to deal with no accountability with the how the dock loads your truck and how your trailer is routed. A degree of working your trailer is normal but that was ridiculous. They will hand you bills for residential deliveries at 10 or 11 in the morning and expect to call and make appointments for the same day and then they'll be upset when you bring stuff back. You'll drive very old equipment unless you've been there for a long time. Favoritism is horrible there. They wanted me to drive a truck with no A/C in 100 degree plus conditions, which is completely unacceptable given the nature of the job. Overall a terrible place to work. Their motto, "just deal with it".

What is the best part of working at the company? Company pays decent, but they don't cooperate with all supervisors on night shift, I listened and did what two supervisors on nights told me to do just to end up fired for they're misinformation What is the most stressful part about working at the company? They put time lines on your arrival times and then tell you not to be in a hurry, they don't cooperate with their drivers at all, it's basically their way or the highway, yet their night crew knows nothing about coming changes. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? They claim to be a family oriented company but nothing could be farther from the truth, your just a number get use to it What is a typical day like for you at the company? Just walking in the gate the stress will swallow you up. This company is so stressful that you can and can't do your jobs with proficiency. And your pretty much wiped out after a days worth of stress

Not a bad place to work, great trucks and trailers. Has updated equipment to get the job done and electric pallet jacks. Only bad part is the management won't help on the dock or drive, not part of the team.

I am a brand new employee. I guess you can say I've been around the block when it comes to employers. When employers saying they care about work life balance, well, Peninsula should be the only company in my personal opinion, to claim that. I have never seen a company treat brand new employees this way. They have allowed me to be able to be with my daughter in our time of need, they spoke respectfully, and listened to my actual needs. They don't know it yet, but I think I have found my forever workplace. Even if I drive the oldest rig lol.

Ownership and management are the worst I’ve ever seen! You have to be part of the chain smokers club to keep your job. I don’t smoke, so I didn’t fit in with the club. If I were you I would steer clear of this company!

Peninsula “permanently” laid me off after I had knee surgery. Never gave me a reason as to why. I guess when you work in a “Right to work” state they can do whatever they want. You can read between the lines. Never had any problems as an employee. Liked my job and the people I worked with. Good place to work other than that! Upper management definitely don’t have your back!

Overall it is a great company to work for. I have been there ten years and generally get two pay increases a year of no less than a dollar. Company cares about its employees. Benefits are very good and healthcare plans are very affordable. I have a Health Savings account so, they pay me currently $220 a month for that. They have a great reputation in the freight industry for on time delivery and pickup, and low damage. Great place to start a career.

I have more time with company then most drivers and Most management, so I have heard it all. THIS is an awesome company. Just a few new people in management that are truly not a fit for the small company like this. Most problems revolve around not understanding next day delivery practices and this gets drivers bent out of shape as well. been here a long time and plan to retire here. That's a peace of mind.
