Dangerous & Reckless Driver- I was driving on I5 south in Portland Oregon on Jan 05, 2023 time around 9:15 am This driver from stopped right lane traffic jumped to the left lane moving traffic. I was driving a semi truck too. He just jumped in my lane when I was hardly 30feet away from his trailer. I had to push my breaks so hard that they got heated I could smell them. Luckily I had just 3 pallets and I had secured them with straps so my load got saved. After doing this he stepped on the gas and just took off at next exit. We have his truck number, date and time we have the safety manager does something about it.
If you're a sleeper cab, enter with caution. This place is unpredictable and unsafe for sleeper cabs. Way too small. Their trailers are beat up for a reason. They have bathrooms on-site. No overnight parking. They have yard spotters if you need help.
TRUCKERS BEWARE. Been here twice for trailer pickups . Communication is 30% if best . MT go on the parking lot after hours when the employees cars are gone in front of chained gate . Your pick up trailer might be in the same lot or down at the end of the street especially if it's at night . Better to come after hours when the lots empty.
We went to pick up a pool table, it was raining and it wouldn't fit in the trailer. They cleared a place for in the warehouse to take it apart and so we could stay dry. They helped load it on the trailer and cleaned up our mess for us. They helped us out so much and they were so nice about everything I was impressed. If I ever have something shipped I'll use these guys there amazing!!
We here at Crown Kirk Industrial LLC would like to share our appreciation for the reliable delivery service from Peninsula trucking lines Inc. We have had the opportunity to use their services and would like to say thank you to all the people that makes the deliveries go so smooth. Each time we call to request updates or schedule our delivery it’s always wonderful to talk with and the delivery driver is always a pleasure and very kind and understanding on any recommendations or requests we need. So thank you to all involved.
Alot of help these guys were to get us out of a icy lot and we made it...thanks to all !!!
If you have a 48' or 53' yard jockey will dock it for you. Really small yard even to get turned around.
This company is waist of time they take about all day long to unload a trailer i would give them zero star improve a little bit peninsula this is 21st century.
Good place to work.
Been working here for a few years and enjoy coming to work each and every day.
I work for Peninsula and it's a great place to work for. We are always striving to better customer service and load quality. My manager and supervisor are great people that care greatly about the customers and getting the freight to them on time and not damaged. We have dock meetings all the time to better these things. Any customer should know that we care and we truly try to get you your freight undamaged and on time. Great place to work for!!!
Worked here 6 months. Was promised a hiring bonus, never got it, when I was told I was going to get it I was then terminated( with no explanation) so they wouldn't have to pay. They don't appreciate hard working, safe drivers; they'd rather have drivers speeding through their small parking lot and being reckless.Upper management needs work but their trainers are amazing. The trainers and customers always spoke very highly of me and my work.

I wouldn't work at this place. They seem unfriendly and seem like slave drivers.
They're nice, and usually unload me in 1 hour
You can earn solid money if you stay focused and keep moving. Dispatch is excellent, which is uncommon in the trucking industry. It’s possible to make $300-$400 per day (line haul) and still be home most nights.
Great pay and benefits, but management struggles with time management and respecting employees’ home time. The work environment lacks safety and space. Even after raising safety concerns, management failed to address them, even following injuries.
Terminal management was terrible. Expect to set up residential appointments yourself, and don’t count on accountability when it comes to how the dock loads your truck or routes your trailer. Some trailer work is normal, but this was excessive. They’ll give you bills for residential deliveries at 10 or 11 AM and expect same-day appointments, then get frustrated when you return undelivered items. Equipment is old unless you’ve worked there a long time. Favoritism is rampant. They wanted me to drive a truck without A/C in 100+ degree heat, which is completely unacceptable for this job. Overall, a terrible workplace. Their motto: “just deal with it.”
What’s the best part of working at the company? The pay is decent, but night shift supervisors don’t work together. I followed instructions from two supervisors only to be fired due to their misinformation. What’s the most stressful part about working at the company? They set strict arrival times but then tell you not to rush. They don’t cooperate with drivers—it’s their way or the highway. Night staff is unaware of upcoming changes. What’s the work environment and culture like? They claim to be family-oriented, but that’s far from the truth. You’re just a number—get used to it. What’s a typical day like? Walking through the gate, the stress is overwhelming. This company creates a stressful atmosphere that makes it nearly impossible to work efficiently. By the end of the day, you’re completely drained.
Great workplace. Drivers are respected and well-treated. Union benefits include great perks and a company-funded pension plan. Family-friendly environment.
Not a bad company to work for—trucks and trailers are well-maintained, and updated equipment like electric pallet jacks make the job easier. The downside is management isn’t involved in helping on the dock or driving—they’re not part of the team.
As a new employee, I can say I’ve worked for many companies, and Peninsula truly values work-life balance. They treat new employees incredibly well. They helped me be with my daughter when I needed to, spoke respectfully, and listened to my actual needs. They don’t realize it yet, but I think I’ve found my long-term workplace—though I may end up driving the oldest rig!
The worst ownership and management I’ve ever encountered! Unless you're part of the chain smokers' club, keeping your job is tough. I don’t smoke, so I didn’t fit in. I’d steer clear of this company.
What’s the best part of working here? Best LTL company to work for—no micromanagement, and they genuinely care about their drivers. What’s the most stressful part? Residential deliveries in remote areas. What’s the work environment and culture like? The workplace culture is great—everyone gets along well. What’s a typical day? I handle about 10 local deliveries and 10 local pickups. A typical shift lasts 8-9 hours.
Peninsula laid me off “permanently” after my knee surgery with no explanation. In a “Right to Work” state, employers do as they please. I had no problems as an employee, liked my job, and enjoyed my coworkers. Aside from that, it was a good place to work. Upper management does not support employees.
An amazing company to work for. Dispatch can be hectic but is understanding and easy to work with. Earning over $100k per year is realistic, and I’m home most nights. I’d recommend this job to anyone looking for good pay, solid benefits, and a work-life balance.
What’s the best part of working here? Making money. What’s the most stressful part? Managers and supervisors are disrespectful and incompetent. What’s the work environment like? Negative and indifferent management with no concern for employees' well-being. What’s a typical day? Dealing with disrespectful managers who disregard injuries and treat workers like human forklifts.
Overall, a great company to work for. After ten years, I receive two pay raises annually, each at least a dollar. The company genuinely cares about employees, offers great benefits, and affordable healthcare plans. My Health Savings Account is funded with $220 monthly. Peninsula has a great reputation in the freight industry for timely deliveries, efficient pickups, and minimal damage. An excellent place to build a career.
Having spent more time at this company than most drivers and managers, I’ve seen everything. THIS is a fantastic company, though some new management members aren’t suited for a small company like this. Many issues stem from misunderstandings about next-day delivery, frustrating drivers. I’ve been here a long time and plan to retire here—it’s reassuring.
I wouldn’t work here again under any circumstances. I’m a skilled driver—I’ve driven in the military, built steep logging roads, and worked alongside great people. This company doesn’t have great people.
