I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside them at industry events, and their passion for trucking is palpable.
It’s pretty cool to see a local business thrive like this! Now, they’ve got this massive facility on Cleveland Road!
I recently attended a seminar where Jerry and Tanya Morrow spoke about their journey in the trucking industry, and wow, talk about motivation!
Knowing that they’re a family-owned business makes me feel good about supporting them.
They offer great training programs and genuinely care about our professional growth
Overall, the company is like any other trucking company. Everyone always preaches, family time, etc. of course you cannot forget about safety just like any other company. Safety is first priority for them for their insurance premium and of course everything else to follow. Worked for this company for about four months, orientation is long and drawn out special for veteran drivers. I had remember when I first signed on, I was told that they would not be for facing cameras not even a month and a half later after being hired in for facing cameras. Seems as though just like any other company information flips on a dime and is not giving out from the top down well. both Tonya and Jerry are a little snooty when it comes to making company changes for drivers, and do not get to really know their drivers especially new drivers. For being a family owned company you would think that if the owners are on site every day you would know their employees. Pay rate for local driving is not at all there, the excuses always freight rates are low, but there isn’t enough freight, so 43K is about what local makes. The accountant is not very friendly at all to truck drivers, always has a bad attitude. The safety coordinator is not really truck driver, friendly either, has a know it all and better than you attitude. Safety bonuses are difficult to get achieved, especially with“low freight“ other systems should be put in place for driver safety bonuses. It is not the drivers fault that freight is low and cannot achieve. Lastly, the rehiring process, seems not to have a system put in place, other than the old grudge system. A year ago I left one company to come drive for this company, and I was told just to quit the current company I was working for, just because they were probably going to tell me I was done that day so why not Work until the first day of start of this job. I took it as makes a good point and gave no notice to my former employer. Fast-forward to when I ended employment with this company I at least gave a notice, but since notice was as they say less than 24 hours, even though I made an offer to continue working through weekend, they ended my employment the next day. As my situation changed, I made adjustments in my family, in which I reapplied to come back to the company and re-enter into a truck driving career. I was told that since my notice was not favorable, I was not eligible for rehire, however, I reached out to the HR and she asked for me to supply them with a reassurance an explanation of my abrupt termination, which I could then be reconsidered eligible. I explained I would be able to do that the next morning via email instead of text. I get an email this morning at 5:30 AM. Thanking me for my interest and it had been reached that I was not eligible for rehire. since I received that email, I did not waste any more time writing an email of explanation and reassurance. The whole point of this review is not to bash Ploger transportation it is one of those issues that most family owned companies if you leave or if you mess up or have some type of family crisis is not considered acceptable and further shows that the leadership of the company does not truly believe in their employees or taken into consideration situation, leadership instead holds grudges. Putting myself out there, to work through the process to come back to a place like this, help me realize how judging places can be and how contradicting companies can be.
It was so impressive. I joined the Company!! Great reviews after investigating!
I called Chris to get an explanation/better understanding about the hiring process. At that time he was busy and stated he'd call me back in 30 minutes or so. Chris called me back in Exactly 30 minutes and stayed on the phone with me for about 25 minutes talking in depth about the questions I had! He was very helpful and I really appreciate his professionalism.
Actually didn't go here but from what I saw when I turned in the place was cleaned the shops for the big trucks were clean all in all look like a nice location
10 hour days of orientation for 5 days and for 130 a day orientations way too long local work drop and hook for 12 hours a day for two days other than that, they’re not a bad company
I've been working here for a little over a year and love it. Everyone here is friendly, and the equipment here is well maintained.
I don't work at Ploger Transportation, but I was there on other business. Sharp people and professionally run.
I have been dealing with Ploger Transportation for over 8 years, and I find them to be one of our most valuable assets in moving our commodity, they are reliable and family oriented. It is a pleasure working with the home staff along with all their dependable drivers. We value their service and would recommend them highly. Debbie Joslyn B. Schoenberg & Co., Inc.
Got the chance to talk to Chris Smith and what a great guy! He came off as a very honest and straightforward guy and in this industry we need more people like himself.
The same day I lost my brother the following day I was fired for being late on deliveries, forgetting to know I was traumatized. I try to save their equipment and avoid any distractions that would make me to have accidents’ no one sympathize with me instead I was fired the next day. The passing of my brother and sacking me the same day really traumatized me more, this was a company I really loved and was planning staying Longer but everything happens for a reason.
I have worked for Ploger Transportation for a very long time since they have had 5 trucks. Since then, they have continually grown and become one of the BEST trucking companies out there. The owners are awesome and care about their employees, just like they are family. Everyone that works in the office is wonderful and treat you like a person, not a number. Their equipment is top notch. I highly recommend Ploger Transportation!
Great carrier to work for. Local in Ohio. Driver satisfaction is a top priority. They provide a great driver lounge, showers, laundry services and shop.
They care about their drivers, well-kept fleet, and overall very pleasant experience.
They sound good, act good but I know a few truckers that got fired without reason! Beware is all I have to say!
Very friendly people here they really have there stuff together for a trucking company they are setting the bar high
You will not find a better Trucking Company! My husband and I drive team for Ploger and they have treated us as part of their family from day one. From equipment to the shop to the office....top notch!
I worked at this company for a brief time, then life took me in a different direction. They hired me with little experience and trained me the right way to do things. They have top notch trainers that made sure I was comfortable with what I learned before moving on. My experience was very positive with this company. Newer equipment and very good maintenance. Friendly staff and good pay. I would recommend them to anyone looking to drive truck.
Met with Chris their recruiter today. I've been looking around shopping companies as a driver. The more we talked and then meeting the maintenance manager in the shop, I realized my interest level was increasing steadily. Prior to driving I was outside sales for 25 years, so you could say I've had some solid exposure to a lot of different people. Chris didn't sugarcoat anything and gave me the bottom line on each topic I presented, of which I really appreciated. Ploger is now my top of the list consideration. During the tour of the facility I was super impressed with Driver support via the gym, private showers, a Driver lounge... All of which had the quality and cleanliness of a private estate. Thank you Chris for your time and honest answers. I'll be giving you a call soon.
Very friendly and accommodating. They actually care about thier drivers. Very easy onboarding process. Hopefully I've found my long term home, it's looking very good so far. Highly recommend giving this outfit a view!!!!
As a 9-year veteran of OTR driving with my own truck and authority before joining, I spent 9 months at Ploger and had an amazing experience. Honestly, I wish I had driven for this family my entire career. The equipment and mechanic shop were top-notch; I never had a single day off the road due to mechanical issues. Their ability to keep up with my fast-paced driving and excellent dispatching was unparalleled. Safety is a priority here, so be prepared to follow rules like observing speed limits and not tailgating. I earned excellent pay just hauling dry vans, but knowing how to efficiently manage logs maximized my success. The team was reliable and gave me the independence to perform effectively. Frequent drop-and-hook, friendly managers, and professional owners made this an outstanding workplace. Although I left to pursue a local position after years on the road, I highly recommend Ploger. They’re an excellent choice even for beginners out of driving school, offering stability and a positive environment to grow your career.
They don’t treat you like just another employee. Fair treatment and consistent work keep you moving forward. Their in-house maintenance ensures the equipment remains in great condition.
The dedication and loyalty they show to employees is extraordinary. Any issues with the trucks are addressed within hours when reported, but what really stands out is their commitment to their team. If you value family time and well-maintained equipment, look no further than Ploger Transportation in Norwalk, Ohio. I’m confident you won’t regret choosing them as your next employer.
What is the best part of working at the company? They treat employees exceptionally well, and the pay is outstanding. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Not much to stress about—just the 34-hour reset before getting back on the road to earn. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Laid-back and very relaxing overall.
The people here are incredibly friendly and more like a family. They even host Christmas events at the terminal, complete with Santa for the kids, making it a warm and festive environment.
This company is fantastic, with great people from top to bottom—from owners to dispatchers to maintenance staff. The equipment is brand-new and reliable. When they say you’re part of the family, they mean it. I plan on retiring here.
Working at Ploger was a pleasure. Everyone in the office is approachable and always willing to assist. If it weren’t for a better-paying opportunity, I’d have stayed indefinitely. They’re understanding, make efforts to provide adequate hours for local drivers, and maintain their trucks and trailers well. Here, you feel like an individual, not just a number.
I’ve been with Ploger for a bit over four years, and my experience has been incredible. Everyone’s experience may differ, but they’ve treated me like a part of their second family. It’s a truly special workplace.
Their trucks and trailers are kept in excellent condition. Dispatchers are friendly, and you get to travel to many states. Unfortunately, the trucks aren’t fully optimized for over-the-road routes. Underpowered engines sometimes make hill climbing a struggle, and I would’ve stayed if they upgraded to trucks with more horsepower for OTR needs.
Overall, the company is decent to work for. However, the long hours without overtime pay for hourly drivers are frustrating. They assign “local” trips spanning 650 miles, which pay better for OTR drivers. The equipment is well-maintained, but the terminal yard can become difficult to navigate in poor weather. Better snow and ice management would go a long way. Additionally, being micromanaged by the safety department diminishes the work experience.
You handle preplanned loads independently. I’ve learned to manage tasks entirely on my own here. The company is well-organized, coworkers are supportive, but having only one day off each week is challenging. That said, the scenery is a nice perk of the job.
