With them you get customer-centric approach
Love their warehousing and distribution offers
They've got the stats to prove you that they are the best.
Had a great experience today with Maria Monzon. Top service and experience. Dropped a pallet here today and it was fast & easy because of her guidance and expertise. Thank you. Favorite R&L terminal I’ve encountered and glad they are my primary carrier.
I purchased a 15x48 pool from Amazon that was shipped via RL carriers. Driver left pool on a pallet in front of my door. I go out the back because the front door is now locked. I go to his truck and explain that he cannot leave that pool on a pallet in front og my door as I have a Disabled Adult in the home and this is a safety hazard. Driver then returned and moved pallet slightly over as I explained blocking the door was a safety hazard. I asked him to please take the pallet and he also refused leaving the pallet behind. I called the company and requested a manager after being placed on hold twice before. Erica who came on and after reciting policy informed me that she was not a manager but a Dispatcher. I again requested to speak to a Manager and was transferred to Jack who thought the whole thing was very funny. Luckily the whole interaction was caught on video and will be sent to corporate.
I wanted to praise the amazing help and customer service from Yammira at the Pembroke Pines office. She was patient and professional and helped me with an issue that saved my company time, money, and a potential problem with one of my clients. Great Job!
After spending $1300 on 2 containers of roofing material and waiting past my expected delivery date, this is what I got! Two damaged unusable destroyed containers. R&L should be ashamed!!! How dare you send this to a customer!! It was already refused by someone else so they decided to send it to me! Amd Annmarie from customer service is rude and a liar.
Gerardo (Driver ID MIAUE) was very nice and efficient with a large delivery we had. My company is extremely pleased with our delivery we had today from the time frame to the driver. Highly recommended R&L Carriers.
Despite all the negative reviews, my experience was great! They called me the day before to schedule an appointment for my delivery. They said between 11am and 2pm, driver showed up at 11:15am. Very helpful and friendly. Also received up to the minute updates via email for tracking. Thank you R+L.
Quite possibly one of the worst experience I've had with any carrier service. The driver had a "I don't want to be here" face from the get go. Knocked on my door and immediately stepped away (no I"m here for so making a delivery), I had to chase them down to see what it was. I tried to make space in my garage, though no dimensions were given for the shipment (may or may not be carriers fault). But the space I made was off by a couple of inches and door would not close. I told the driver give me a minute to move some things and try to push it in a little more or move it to another side of the garage. The "sighs" and "grunts" began. I asked him what it was, he's statement was "I have other deliveries to make", "I'm not even supposed to put this in your garage" which was news to me. He took the item back and I did not sign for it. I needed only a few minutes to clear up space, I could do without the attitude. Or maybe a "box is XYZ big, make sure there's space" ahead of time. This is the level of work people put in now a days. Customer service is non-existent. I'm pretty sure you get paid regardless and I'll have to eat the fees for the second delivery anyway. This is ridiculous, hire better people.
Always good to us truckers delivering here. Can never complain esp during this day age and for the area parking around & near Miami is near impossible
R&L Carriers are the best!! Gerardo (MIAUE) , my delivery driver is so friendly, kind, courteous, helpful and a true professional!! He took such care off loading my brand new Dryer, from the picking up inside the trailer, loading it unto the lift, and offloading to my door step, I was so impressed and thankful of this man’s patience and care, I will tell people about Gerardo and R&L Carriers!! What a company!! Anytime I have to move something I will get this company to do it!! What a rarity now a days to find people who really care!! I thank the Lord for Gerardo and R&L Carriers!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It’s a great company with amazing perks and they care for their customers and employees. Everyone is laidback and chill in my department. I love it.
I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy if I had one they are rude tactless and inconsiderate trash I wouldn't give them even a star but without at least one star you can't review
For being in Chicago, it's not too bad. The company I work for does drops and hooks here. They have a new drop yard across the street for trailers and it has plenty of room. It's pretty simple to drop your empty, check in, and grab your loaded trailer. You have to scale before leaving and write your weights on the gate pass.
Outstanding in every way!
A routine driving job with a company that works with you to find the right fit. Management is understanding and willing to train. Overall, a good experience working for R&L.
The best part of the job is the consistent work schedule. The most stressful aspect isn’t too bad—it’s just a standard P&D job. The work environment isn’t particularly relaxed, but as long as you do your job, you can get through the day. A typical shift involves waiting for dock workers to finish loading your truck before heading out on your assigned route.
I’ve enjoyed working for this company. No major complaints, except that drivers must purchase their own equipment. Management is cooperative and willing to work with employees.
The most enjoyable part of the job is the workplace culture. The hardest part is realizing that what you’ve learned is just the beginning—there’s always an opportunity to develop new techniques and adapt to technological changes. Working with good coworkers makes the experience better.
The job requires nonstop work for 10+ hours, with no overtime pay and no option to turn down assignments. It’s not a job for enjoyment—they push you hard. I decided to move on to a better opportunity for a healthier work-life balance. The workload makes it feel like an OTR job, and micromanagement is excessive. If you want to earn money, you’ll work hard for it.
Dispatchers give preferred routes to new hires if they complain about pickup or drop-off issues, such as bad hazmat paperwork or inaccessible locations. Instead of problem-solving, dispatchers prefer to complain. Favoritism is common, and management ignores employees who reach out for help. If you’re not part of the inner circle, you’ll be treated as an expendable worker until they push you to quit and replace you.
R&L is a great place to work, but some terminals operate on a buddy system. Senior drivers handle most of the workload, while favored employees get preferential treatment. For example, drivers are supposed to stay on a bid for a year, but certain employees are allowed to switch after just a few months. If they don’t want to make a delivery, they complain, and the task is reassigned to someone else. I witnessed a lot of this over 15 years.
The pay is lower than industry standards, but it’s easy to make up for it with extra hours. It’s difficult to get fired, and there’s little stress unless you create it for yourself.
The best part of the job is the good pay and weekends off. The most stressful aspect is dealing with the challenges of being on the road. The work environment is straightforward—just do your job and go home. Once you learn the routine, the job becomes easy.
As a linehaul driver out of ALE, my typical night involves pre-tripping my truck, getting my paperwork, completing my run, and heading home—it’s that simple. Management at my terminal is reasonable and doesn’t micromanage. The hardest part is not knowing my destination until four hours before my shift. I could be sent to Chicago, Detroit, or Lexington, KY. The most enjoyable part is the transparency in pay for each run, even if some rates don’t always make sense.
This is one of the worst places to work. No overtime pay, disrespectful dispatchers, and poor communication. Employees are forced into bad situations daily, working 60 hours at straight pay. Drivers must buy their own pallet jacks, and there are no raises or rewards. Senior drivers have been taken advantage of for years. The company needs a union. Underpaid and overworked, with weak management that fails to hold employees accountable.
A typical day involves checking your truck for mistakes made by loaders, fixing issues, and securing freight that should have been strapped properly. Expect to deal with rude customers. Management at the terminal is decent, but the regional manager is unfriendly, particularly toward Latino employees. The hardest part is the lack of overtime pay and the unfair wage gap between TT drivers and those performing similar or even more demanding tasks.
It’s just a job—nothing more. Management is terrible, routing is inefficient, and they hire anyone with a pulse. Unlike most LTL companies, they don’t offer overtime pay.
The job is challenging but rewarding. I enjoyed the work and the people I delivered to. The hardest part was handling additional pickups after a long shift. A typical day involved 10–15 deliveries and an unknown number of pickups. Most drivers were friendly, and my boss was easy to get along with. The job wasn’t difficult—it was fulfilling.
I work here, and the equipment is always new. You can work as many hours as you want, and the money is there without needing to ask. Raises are given annually. I love R&L Carriers.
Overall, a good place to work with steady hours Monday through Friday and weekends off. The terminal manager is approachable and maintains an open-door policy. Equipment is well-maintained, with onsite maintenance available.
The worst company I’ve ever worked for. Poor management and terrible supervisors. The work environment is toxic, with forced overtime for hard workers. No overtime pay—just straight wages. Dispatch is rushed and inefficient, and getting time off for medical appointments is nearly impossible.
