This company is bogus. Went through the pre-employment process, background check, paid out of pocket for my MVR( which they said I was going get reimbursed and still have not received my reimbursement and are ignoring my calls and emails), was set to start with date and time, and at the last minute say they were going with someone else. I guess my color don't match the company.
Called to see if they could supply two ubolts to fit a rear leaf spring on 97 International as the dealer didn't have long enough ubolts which they said were the correct ones, Spoke to gentleman Brian and he said we have something to get you up and running, I am coming from Maryland and he said I'm here until 5:00, I was there at 4:55 and he and Gary waited for me and got what I needed, a great old school place unlike these push the button dealers. Thank you gentleman for staying and helping me out. Highly recommend for your parts.
Thank you. We have used this company many times. Their drivers are true professionals. I would recommend this transportation company to anyone. Mike PES Phila.
Family owned. Exceptionally run. Just about the best place I've ever worked.
Good parts service and fair prices good inventory of truck parts
Went to buy some regal blue paint no 1 else had it but s&j did and everything else I needed
great distributor for our diesel work , parts and fuelling
Tractor 278 driver's arrogant. Unwilling to wait for other drivers. That are ahead of him
Only in the orientation process but so far so good, there definitely seems to be money to be made here. Smaller company they will know you by name, they do ask what your preferences are with truck type and hometime but does depend on your location. But this is the Honeymoon phase and will update when time rolls on. Almost three months in and so far I like my job, pay isn't bad if your willing to do your job theres money to be made here, personally I have been a little obnoxious on somethings but so far so good. Getting used to the small company thing has taken some getting used to coming from large companies but overall I'd recommend to friend.

Getting used to the small company thing has taken some getting used to coming from large companies, but overall, I'd recommend it to friends. 6 Month Update: The insurance is cheap with a free option for the young, and overall benefits are affordable. We are getting brand new rigs now. I hope trailers aren't far behind. I'll have to stick with my original assessment, not a bad place to work. Don't bother ya as long as ya do your job. Don't mess with safety. I did, so don't do that, my advice. I've always based my opinion on how hard it would be to replace a job, and this one would be somewhat difficult to replace when it comes to hometime/pay, benefits price, and not being nagged constantly. My suggestion is to give it a shot. Make sure my truck number 1286 gets put down as a referral. There might be a hundred or 2 in for ya
One of their truck drivers was driving reckless and a rock/debris fell off the truck and directly hit my windshield and it’s now completely cracked. The driver refused to stop and when I called right after they said “it’s not our problem call your insurance company” . That shows poor ethic and if this is how they treat people I can’t even imagine what their clients have to go through.
The truck I was given was always in the shop, constantly breaking down. Had to argue over breakdown pay. Definitely ranks amongst the worst companies I’ve ever ran for. Long hours garbage pay. Oh and when you quit they block you on social media to try and keep up the appearance of being a half way decent company.
Any driver working for this company, please provide some details about the company based on your own experience. Do they have driver facing cameras.
Family owned. Exceptionally run. Just about the best place I've ever worked..
this company booked a load with me and was a no call no show still hasnt even answered the phone, i would not use.
Great place to work. This company truly cares about its drivers and customers. Proud to call this place home!
Good parts service and fair prices good inventory of truck parts
Very good place to work and get parts
Reliable and workers friendly.
Love this company. Worked here for 4 months so far and they are great. Good trucks and decent trailers. Dispatch and office staff are awesome and treat you well. Over all a great place.
Best job I ever had, they treat you like family. I've been working here for 6 years and its been great, I'm very happy to be an SJ transportation driver. Great pay, good work/home balance. I'm home every weekend.
Parts department is hands down one of the best in the heavy truck business. Gary & Brian are 1st class to deal with & both extremely knowledgeable with trucks, driving & mechanical knowledge.
SJ can be flexible but be careful what you ask for. If you want one week of local work you'll get three. If you need more money you'll be run hard. They are really easy going and there are a lot of great people here.
I enjoyed my time here. Family atmosphere and an owner who used to driver for the company. Training was through and never rushed. The variety of equipment used always kept the job fresh. Guaranteed weekly pay for company drivers was nice around holidays as the work would slow down. I would go back if I didn’t live so far from the terminal.
Job is OK. Pay is low for the type of work and materials being hauled. I liked it until I was kept out through weekends and not getting home for a reset. Twice this happened and I was done. Company might be better now with Elogs. But when on paper they ran you hard. Too hard. I would have to be very desperate to work there again. My pay was almost always wrong. I got it the next week but always had to keep on top of it. Very frustrating
I highly don’t recommend this company for New Drivers they treat you like a Low Free antiquated person! They have little to No no patience . Narrowminded areas that are running the show.
It's a fast paced work environment with knowlageable professionals at the helm, and experienced drivers on the road. SJ has a family oriented atmosphere and I've always felt that the company has my best interest in hand. SJ Transportation has a solid reputation for being an outstanding trucking company. They have cultivated long standing relationships with both clients and driver.s I would recommend anyone with a serious desire to persue a career as a Commercial Hazmat Transporter, to seriously consider becoming part of the SJ Transportation family.
Growing company hauling hazmat in vans, tankers or roll-offs, you get pick your type of work but I did all so earning power was better. The owner is straight up and used to drive here so he gets it. May sound corny but working here is like being part of a family. They advertise average driver pay is $65000 a year but I did better, just need to be willing to work. Nice trucks, Petes and Macks that pull. All good I plan to retire from here.
I loved working with this company. They are the kind of company that allows a driver to be diversified. You are able to be local, dedicated, regional, or OTR.
