Working for The Apodaca Group is honestly next-level
The Driver of the Month program is awesome
Let me just drop some mad respect on The Apodaca Group. As a small business owner, I’ve dealt with plenty of logistics companies over the years, but none have come close to the level of service and support that TAG provide
Ruthless respect
James Apodaca is a man of vision
Well... It's been over 3 years now and this is not my first review and I am just as happy and content with my job, my bosses, and the simplicity of what I do. Our company bought us a brand new truck just for us for doing such a good job. My husband and I do a great job cause our company allows us to do our job. They tell us that we are the caption of our ship and trust us to make our own decisions without being scolded like children. We are on an Amazon account and consistently average 5500 to 5800 mpw, and we are home every single week. This has not changed in over 3 years and I don't suspect it will either. And the pay.... Well, for being a company driver let's just say that we are not that far from 6 figure income each. We are blessed. They give us our time off when ever we ask for it. We are allowed to trip plan our way, get fuel where and when we decide, and they are super prompt at handling any issues that come up and phone calls are always answered even in the middle of the night. I could go on and on and tell no lies. Thank you Apodaca for continuing to be the best people I know in this industry. Your continued support of Ernest and I are the reason we love doing our job. You help us to be successful and we really appreciate you and all you do. I give my Knoxville team....Jeff, Mike, Kelly, Jordan, Jabonny, and Angie all 10 stars each 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💫 Happy New Year 2024 yall
I was very pleased from the initial phone conversation until the job was completed. I recommended to a company I work closely with and they were equally impressed. Clear communication and on time. Exactly what we asked for. Will deal with again.
I love working for this great company! Fun working for a growing company that keeps achieving great things every day. I know we also have some of the best employees of any company similar to ours.
Hands-down best company we have ever used for logistics. Would highly recommend their polite, courteous and on-time staff. Thanks guys for the great service guys.
Hands down the best logistics company I've ever used. James Apodaca and his crew will have my business from now on. Thanks guys for all you do and will do for me.
This is an amazing company to work for. The employers are down to earth and very understanding of the work/life balance. They are honest and caring about their employees and always try to actively find ways to show their gratitude and appreciation for hard work. I couldn't ask for better employers.
Hands the best job I’ve had. I couldn’t ask for better employment and that’s me being honest. I love the way they believe in everybody, gives you chances, willing to train you over and beyond. The appreciation that is shown to me I show to my team in Tallahassee and we love each and everyone of our family members near or far; We are still one as a whole. I can’t thank upper management enough for always being there when we need you.
Terrible FedEx drivers, destroy my property and give false info out when confronted. Was so happy to to talk to my new FedEx driver today from a different logistics company that these people are a failing company and they would be taking over. Good riddance
hired on here for a dedicated run to Texas that lasted for about a month then was told amazon had done away with the dedicated runs. so we started loosing a hundred bucks a week from there on out.they will lead you to believe that they are the #1companey that hauls Amazon loads.not so.we set for 30hrs plus a week with no pay waiting to get a load out of amazon.only to arrive a find out it has been canceled.health ins cost a184.00 a week with 12thousand out of pocket before they payed anything.always getting calls saying that payroll had made a mistake an over paid us a few hundred dollars an they were going to deduct fifty bucks a week till it was paid back.an if you need to get ahold of dispatch on a weekend to fined out about a load being canceled you can pretty much forget that. So you set some more till someone finally returns your call sometimes hrs later.Don’t believe what they tell you.
Very dishonest company and owner and the owner is a complete joke. They told me so many different lies to get my business and once established never came through on anything. It’s all about money to this company and very dishonest at that. Will tell you how great they are and guarantee satisfaction only to disappoint in every way. Found out all employees are under paid and the owner James uses each employee to his own advantage and treats people with so much disrespect. He’s very two faced would not recommend dealing with this company especially the owner in any way.
Take "people orientated" to mean "soley profit orientated". While the small company continues to grow and show around $2 million in profit in recent years (public records), nearly all of thier drivers routinely qualify for food stamps. There is a significant disconnect between what is promoted in thier job postings and in what actually takes place. Drivers tend to be hardworking and positive people that enjoy the work but are viewed as lazy and failing to be "team players" when they resist the routine of excessively long hours and empty promises of a remedy just beyond the horizon (it never comes). Drivers are continually required to work 10-14 hr days at $100 per day salary. Management is incompetent at best while ownership seems to be conniving oportunist on a good day. Drivers organized a walkout but backed down out of fear that the owner James would, over time, replace everyone for doing so. The burnt-out management continually whines about how they can't seem to keep anybody on board for more than a few weeks, yet are genuinely oblivious as to why. Stay clear of this company.
This company provides everything needed to excel in our roles. I have the freedom to take charge of my work, and both mileage and workload remain steady year-round. The pay is reasonable, but the real highlight is the incredible, down-to-earth people who make up the team. No micromanagement, strong integrity, and outstanding support whenever needed.
Overall, the team consists of good people, but when I first encountered an issue, I wasn’t given the necessary details to resolve it. This made me suspect it was more of a personal conflict involving someone in upper management, though I could never confirm—just my perspective.
Excessive workload with insufficient pay. Poor leadership. Employees are treated mechanically, with minimal time off and an expectation of 24/7 availability. Safety and personnel concerns seem neglected. Management operates like an exclusive club.
My time here was enjoyable—I met great coworkers and customers along my route. You work independently, and as long as deliveries are completed daily, there’s no micromanagement. The day starts by loading the truck and heading out. Some days can be stressful with a high volume of packages or late releases, but this isn’t an eight-hour shift type of job. You stay until every package is delivered, and during training, it might mean finishing at 7 or 8 PM until you adapt. If late hours aren’t for you, this may not be the right fit. The work is straightforward but physically demanding. Once you get accustomed to it, it's manageable. I appreciated my experience here.
Was frequently asked to switch shifts unexpectedly and often had to adjust runs because one of the managers preferred avoiding certain stops. This resulted in consistently late returns. Equipment was in poor, worn-out condition.
If you’re looking for consistent home time, straightforward work, and competitive pay, this is a solid option. Runs ensure you return home daily, with weekly Friday paychecks. Management is easygoing and respectful. Skilled drivers get set schedules and are left to work with minimal interference.
With over a decade of experience hauling Hazmat and tankers, I found the company operates with a chaotic approach, making last-minute changes and frequently requesting drivers to cover night shifts. The majority of loads are overnight runs. Poor management practices mean issues aren’t communicated directly—instead, workdays are reduced without explanation. I often had to call them to get important updates. They speak casually like friends but act unprofessionally behind the scenes. On multiple occasions, I learned about conversations behind my back through others. If you’re seeking consistency, this is not an ideal choice.
With over a decade of experience in Hazmat and tanker hauling, I can say this company lacks structure. Decisions are made impulsively, and last-minute calls requesting coverage for night shifts are common, with most runs occurring overnight. Management is ineffective, failing to communicate issues directly while quietly cutting workdays. Many times, I had to reach out for clarity. They act friendly but handle things unprofessionally when you’re not present. I frequently heard secondhand accounts of conversations about me. If you want a dependable schedule, this isn’t the right place.
Giving your best effort here doesn’t seem to matter. Seniority dictates job responsibilities, regardless of work ethic. Overmanagement causes internal issues among drivers, which likely contributes to the high turnover rate.
Never encountered any problems. Management was always available to assist me when needed. Wish I could have stayed longer—would gladly return. Great company.
Good position for those with prior CDL experience. Best suited for those who can work independently. Managers have been helpful, and the company employs both hourly and per-mile drivers.
