Why TransLand?

Why TransLand?

Nowadays, TransLand performs in all 48 states with a special focus in the Midwest. The main terminal is in Strafford, Missouri on Old Route 66. There is also a new terminal as of 2023 in O’Fallon, MO that supports about 30 drivers. Our drivers know TransLand will work hard to give them the best and treat them right. That’s their everyday experience, but it’s also exactly what you’d expect from a midwest company like TransLand. Throughout the US, TransLand is known for being a premier transportation company. While many truck driving jobs have their own rewards, choosing that career with TransLand pays benefits beyond the paycheck.

The only reason I give a bad review is for the oay. Called and spoke to a friendly recruiter, but when I heard the base pay is only 48cpm.....in 2022....??? Give me a break. Most companies are paying closer to 60cpm, and someone like me with 5yr+ exp... I was at 48cpm like 4yr ago, and my base now is 60cpm just running AZ-TX. No wonder there's a driver shortage. Companies just don't wanna pay! (And some other things. Besides the pay, they were polite on the phone and only run central Midwest. Definitely very entry level pay in today's economy.

Survived for almost 2 years. Did well at times. Most of the time say a lot. From day one, every time I asked for miles, they would say, no freight or really slow. I was lucky to get 1000 miles a week . However, the maintenance department was very top of the line. I ended up leaving, because I wasn't able too make enough money to pay bills. For the first 3 months was a good, then went down

There were a lot of good things about Transland. They talked to me like we were on the same team. The maintenance department was phenomenal. The terminal was beautiful and clean. The equipment was fantastic. However, the bad ended up overwhelming the good at 4 months or so, when things suddenly changed. They switched my dispatcher and my miles started a race to zero every week for 2 months or so. Sometimes I'd be out all week for a $400 check. I'd sit in parking lots for 24 hours at a time. They already pay extremely low cpm and I could handle that until they gave me no miles. I had lengthy conversations to fix this with EVERYONE and nothing changed. I was disappointed by that and the memo they handed out saying that 75% of the company made a mileage bonus (over 2100 miles) when I was getting maybe 800. They literally left me no other option.

So I am still nee to Transland. With that being said, I truly love it here. I get home time when my wife wants me home. Everyone is superb, They keep you running. I only have good things to say about Transland, and let's face it, nobody wants to hear good this.

Transland is a great company to work for. Equipment is great compared to some other companies out there. Family owned and operated for over 40 years, and I have had a pleasure working with Transland for the past 9 years.

My name is Roy I had a family member die while I was an orientation. they let me take the truck home right after orientation and told me to take 4-5 days if I need to. I was at the funeral. And they were burning up my phone. For me to take a load. I blew a tire on the way to the truck. And cost me a 1/2 a day. They terminated me for not being ready to run.

More positives than negatives. Weekends off. Customers weren't my favorite. Too many live loads and unloads. Pay is based on short miles, which isn't ideal. Required to refuel at the terminal, which isn't always convenient for drivers.

What is the best part of working at the company? You can basically choose how long to be out and the home time you want, within reason. I'm out 5 days and home 2, back to back. For new or female drivers, I've found it's the best company. I went with a larger company that promised pretty much the same, but it didn't feel like I mattered enough. You need a company that is there for you 24/7 with any help you need. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? I don't feel stressed about anything since driving for TransLand. The stress I have is from things I had to learn or just get once my training was over. You're not just on your own then, like it was with the larger company. I have several people I can call anytime for any help I need. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? It feels like you're driving for a small company, and everyone I've met so far has never said anything negative, unlike my first driving job. I've met people from all different backgrounds, and they all appreciate driving for TransLand. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Well, I stay around my home state. You are given load assignments with plenty of time to get to and from. Mostly all drop and hook.

Management shows favoritism, and if you're not one of the favorites, prepare for trouble. Certain employees get away with a lot. Missouri labor laws mean nothing to them. Don't work here if you don't want nightmares.

What is the best part of working at the company? Getting to see all the different places. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Missing your family during the week and dealing with four-wheelers. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Friendly, and they act like they care somewhat. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Driving an automatic and delivering freight to customers.

It is a truck driving job. I am treated as a member of the team. Communication between my fleet manager and me is seamless. The quarterly goals are achievable for all drivers if you put in a little work and pay attention to details. I have not missed my quarterly goals in 10 quarters, and the bonus is quite large. New trucks and trailers are coming in constantly. I rarely wait for my next load; they are very strong at preplanning drivers' loads to get the most bang for the buck. They are constantly doing the little things well and the big things better. 90% of the freight is contracted, and it is growing daily. Lots of drop and hooks. I'm 50/50 between lives/d&h. But I drop well over 3000 miles weekly, and my family is happy with my home time. If you aren't scared, you should call and learn more. See you at orientation.

It's alright for a first driving job. A lot of input from drivers goes in one ear and out the other. Pay is below the current industry standard. You will have to stay out longer than advertised to make a decent paycheck. I will say their dry van fleet is treated very well; just wouldn't recommend flatbed unless you stay on the dedicated side and are okay with lower miles.

Best place I've ever worked. The people are incredible. If I ever leave, it will be to do something different, not to find a different job of the same kind. The pay is great, the people are kind and happy to work with you. You never feel like you're in trouble or on the rocks. I messed up once or twice on this job, and they helped me figure it out and took some of the brunt of my mistakes. It is no wonder why they have such a low driver turnover rate. I would recommend this job to anybody that wants to drive for a living and doesn't mind being gone from home for 5 days at a time. I work the casual job, so I'm home every other week. Looking to start a family soon, so I may find a way to work more and be gone fewer days in a row, but seriously, these guys are as good as they come.
