This is the parent company of GTS. Safety brags that they can see everything within the private cab area by looking at the reflection in the windshield via the dashcam. That's extremely invasive! Dispatchers kept giving me loads with delivery times that were impossible to do legally. Logistics were terrible here too.
I can't believe they sold out Gts that way and not even tell the drivers about it until it it's too late and then they have to try to find a way home
GREAT EXPERIENCE! I had the pleasure of working with Alan De La Torre, he was a great communicator and very easy to work with. If I needed anything he was only an email/phone call away. I pray we can continue to work together.
Had one of their drivers got me all interested in getting a job with them talk to me for 30 minutes I call them and they tell me they don't hire new trainees out of Florida when he perfectly clearly told me that they fly you up to Rhode Island and train you so either the recruiter doesn't want to work or they change policy the recruiter barely spoke English didn't have any good explanation as to why I got pitched for 30 minutes also went off topic didn't even answer a question I asked she's not listening to people whenever they're calling and speaking with her and it's like talking to a wall this company makes no sense
Great company to work with. Organize and professional. Easy and fast in and out times with and without appointments. Looking forward to work with Alan again. 5 stars all the way!
T.J. (My transport driver) is an excellent guy. Always gave updates and was so kind/positive about the whole experience. He drove my car from San Diego to Fort Myers so efficiently. He arrived a couple days early. I would highly recommend him and his company for anyone looking to ship their car. 10/10!!!
Reckless drivers! Full trailer of cars tailgating and flashing high beams at me while already over 10 MPH over the speed limit (65 MPH speed limit on i70 Maryland) in the rain at night. Unacceptable. Truck 83469T with MD plates..
Matt is a rock star!!! He picked up a car from me and made it to the customer on the other side of the country in time! Oregon to Connecticut. Customer was happy, I am happy, if I could use him for every car I ship I would. Do yourself a favor and ask for Matt.
A great place to work.
Great people that I've spoken to so far. Look forward to starting 2023 with Leo and the Virginia family. If you have any questions call Jessica in recruiting.
MY HOME BEST COMPANY I HAVE EVER WORKED FOR
I loved working for Virginia transportation corporation absolutely the best people to work with.
I love that this company promotes their employees and shares their uprising story
Great company to work with! Communication is always great. Quick and helpful responses
Awesome equipment, good benefits, management will accommodate request for time off an such. Overall a good place to take your driving career to the next level.
Joining VTC with 3 years of car hauling experience, I have made way better money here than my previous employer. I have seen a few $ 3500 paychecks. I average $ 2000 a week here running the Mid West Region board. You want a steady $ 3000 a week paycheck, you run the Road Board. Most all the Bonus money is thrown at the Road Board folks. $ 500 per week for Driving Hours 50 plus. I am older and do not require that amount of money. Road Board folks stay out for 3 weeks before their Home time. Mid West Region is a 6 days out 1 day home. But honestly I get home Friday night or early Saturday morning, then leave back out Mondays. Some days I can do my 10 hour break at the house during the week. Dispatch is cool and will work with you if things come up in your personal life you need to take care of. Upper Management is good at what they do and will always find us work hauling vehicles to New Car dealerships. Pay is percentage based. Starts at 25 % and each year you get a half percent increase.
From the owner to the recruiter and everyone in between are absolutely amazing people extremely helpful and Courteous. My dispatcher worked with me to get me home and to make as much money as possible!!!! Amazing pay!!! Brand new equipment!!!
Make great money, receive some of the best benefits in the industry including a matching 401k. In the world of auto hauling Virginia is probably the best company out there.
Good place to work. New well maintained equipment. Competitive pay. I was hurt at home and ended up on extended disability. The company paid my medical. Even gave me my birthday and Christmas bonus even though I was out. Really good management!
Overall I’m very pleased with VTC. The pay and benefits are great. The management and culture here is phenomenal. The home time not so much, at least in the southeast.
Cool coworkers, if you need help ask and you will receive it. Team player environment...nobody wants to see anyone get hurt, lose their job nor lose their life
The job wasn’t bad until the try to keep changing this and don’t listen to the drivers. One day they will have 0 drivers for the way they treat them. The only good is the money
You will make 100k as a driver but say goodbye to your personal life. mandatory 6 days on 1 off. the company is getting too big for its own good.
Working at VTC was a wonderful experience. Pros and cons to every job, but over all predictable. You must be prepared to put miles in to make your money! Industry leading equipment for everyone. Best maintenance department! Only problem there was, DISPATCH. Your immediate dispatcher can make or break a driver at Virginia. If the 2 of you are not on the same page, life will be difficult. You must find your way through that 1 problem and life would be great.
In general it is a good place to work. Laid back for the most part. Do your job and go home. The main issue is that unless you’re at the main terminal in Rhode Island, none of the terminals have straps or anything else to assist you with. It’s almost like you’re on an island.
Some of the Management in the mid atlantic region are a joke they hire people that dont know what they are doing that never drove truck before or have sense of directions
Notice only the people in the office give good reviews. Drivers are treated like little kids, if you are in a company shirt with their logo on it and it’s not part of your uniform, you’ll get written up and get sent home. You are required six day work schedule and no family time or rest.Lots and lots of unpaid deadhead miles. Truck parking not re-imbursed.Too many dumb rules. It’s not worth the headache.
Good company. Great equipment. Dispatchers have there own agenda. Steady work. Typical car hauling company. Dead head pay over 350 miles. But they always cut it short
Good company to work for benefits are good health insurance isn't super expensive for individual kinda pricey for spouse and family compensation is fair
For all to experience fun place. Good attitude. Enjoy the time with the company . Feel better about the business and get better. With routine and I can go back
All new equipment, team atmosphere,, they really care about their drivers and reward you as an equally important team member! Absolutely no unreasonable demands. If you are a company driver I dont know of a better company to work for!
I can’t complain too much about this company. I hold a class A CDL for 16 years but no car hauler experience at all. They train me for 6 weeks and put me on a brand new $300K equipment. Full benefits including vacation, personal day, holiday and sick pay from day one of employment. Management from the corporate office is excellent. Most of negative complaints about VTC is about one specific head of disparcher from a specific location or yard that might cost the company some good drivers. Otherwise, you get the skill, you got the equipment, plenty of jobs from different locations, it’s all up to you to make money. Overall, from my personal experience, I strongly rate VTC A+++++
a typical day is the transportation of vehicles to dealers. is a great environment et Virginia. excellent management. excellent culture. I cant see any hard part of this job. the all around situation is great.
A typical day was loading and unloading cars, hauling cars to the rail hub in Talladega. I learned that if your manager doesn't like you, you will be last in everything. Management has no communication skills and one day you work and the other you don't. Then work 6 days a week off for a week.Workplace was the same, very competitive. The hardest part of the job was really none. Most enjoyable part of the job was working.
Had and good time loading and transporting new vehicles to different dealerships.learned different ways of loading various size vehicles on four car trailer
we work at our own pace and my days are long. we work six days a week. we drive the best trucks out there and the pay is great. the only problem is we have too many drivers
