I've been working with Watsontown since July of 2023. I love this company. A friend referred me and I'm so glad he did. They pay hourly and I get home every weekend. The shop mechanics are top notch. If you're looking for a great company to work with, this is it. Give them a call. You won't regret it.
Place sucks bathrooms seem to always be broken. Hours are hit or miss only a few of the staff are greatable the others have personality of a piece of sandpaper
I have worked here for 7 months now. Have been driving this August will be 38 years. This is the best company I have ever worked for. They actually do care about the drivers not just a number.
Careless driver in Tampa. Seems to be empty since pony axle is lifted but driving over the speed limit on Hillsborougj rs ld in tampa truck number 1218. Shifting lanes back n forth last minjte withcnot signal. Aggressive driver. Wondering whats yout accident and complaint rates.... SMH. I KNOW WHY you dont place one of those "hows my driving" or gps device on your trucks. These knockle heads think they own the road!
Just had one of your drivers verbally attack me. Calling me a bunch of names and calling me racist? I did not in any way engage with them nor have a conversation I felt unsafe walking back to my own truck, so I walked away then towards my truck Today 10-26-23 A-Plus Dublin Travel Plaza Dublin, VA Happened around 515-530
Company gave me an opportunity at a down point in my life. I worked, received great pay and equipment was always top-notch for myself. Everyone has an opinion, but try going at things with the knowledge of, but no expectation, that worked out great in my opinion. You hear things about this and that, it might not be the same for you. I had an accident a couple years back (non work related) and was in the hospital for 1.5 months, I had a few people that I call friends and family not show up but the owner Steve and the current Safety Director Brandon came and visited. It brought tears to my eyes ( waking up and seeing them two standing there), mainly because its a big and growing company and even with that, I got to see the people who keep it running and not just the logo. Super dope place to work, there is more to this story but I'll spare you! I'll always remember this experience! P.S. I applied to this place like 4x before they ever interviewed me.
If I could I would rate this company less but 1 star is the minimum. I had an encounter with a driver who lacked professionalism, courtesy and safety on the road. So I called to report the issue I had with them. When the phone was answered the first gentleman introduced himself by name but nothing more and I asked who he recommended I spoke to about my issue. He directed me to safety. I then was connected to someone else who answered his like with "HELLO" and nothing more. I was thrown off as I thought I was calling a professional company not some backwoods driver guy. I then even explained after getting the guys name, "Dave" about his lack of professionalism and the issue with the driver. I didn't feel Dave cares about my comments so I called back and spoke to someone else who also said outright they didn't care. This tells me this is not a professional company, and I have decided I will never work with them in the future.
Absolutely wonderful place to work. I’ve Been here 9 months now. I have Zero complaints. Highly recommended.
My feonce works here. The bosses seem to really care about their employees and their employees lives. When we had covid his one boss texted me and said if we need anything just let him know. Not alot of places do that. They even have a oven in their break room. Something I've never seen at any job before. Very flexible with making up hours and with overtime which helps a lot. Every now and then they will have food for the employees like actual hot food not just sandwiches and chips and they have free hydrating popsicles their employees can get at any time. All around nice place so far as I've seen when I would visit to have lunch with my feonce and based on what he tells me
Has worked there 11 years,BEST company to work for!! Everything is getting computerized and the amount of paperwork is almost nil.
Good equipment the shop perfectly responsive!! Good loads and excellent hours + miles!! Just would happy with a little more communication between me as a driver and my assigned load, but my dispatcher is very concerned on detail and my concern of home time!! A PLUS!!
Absolutely best company I have ever work for. They treat employees like family, you are not a number or lowlife servant you are a human being. I could go on for hours about how good they are, I will try to sum it up quickly They care about their employees and dont give empty promises when i started working for them the company picnic was 4 or 5 weeks from when I started not only was invited to go but my family members also were included at no cost to me. As I was walking thru our pavilion at the picnic and the CEO and owner grabbed my arm and said " Hi, Tom how are things going? You having any issues? I just wanted to welcome you to WTC and let you know I have an open door policy, if you have an issue and it cant be solved by people in chain above you then come see me. WE will resolve it immediately " I have never met owner of any company I have worked for let along have one seek me out knowing my name to say those words to me. Only way I am leaving WTC is feet first with a toe tag and I will probably be kicking and screaming to let me get back to work. If you are looking for a job I highly recommend submitting application. Absolutely best job I have ever had.
Been here 4 months and absolutely love it! Being paid by the HR out here really has me stress free! Great money and great hometime !
Good place to work And amazing staff members!!! Newer trucks, clean, day cab, sleepers too. The maintenance crew here are the best around too! I've been in some sticky situations while driving out west. Like my a/c went out on me and they paid to have the whole thing replaced. All the while I was cozy in a hotel in Salt Lake city for over a week. Getting paid good money each day for layover pay!! This is by far the very best company that I have ever driven for! The freight is almost always under 20k in weight and no touch too! I didn't like the idea of automatic at first. Hated it to be honest....now tho lol. It is just another day on the road now. So if you truly want the best driving experience possible? Get yourself over to Milton PA and change your life for the better!!!
I been here a year. I have not had a issue yet. Yes there's cameras but eventually every trucking company will have them. The hourly pay is the top benefit. Same pay rate for everything, breakdowns, loading/unloading. I don't get paid a lower hourly rate when in the shop, just may not get 14 hours paid for. I believe it's around 8 or 10 hours. Yes some trucks may be older but your hourly pay, not chasing miles, and in my experience it gets fixed or I don't drive whether its the truck or trailer doesnt matter. It's my CDL not theirs and any issues I've had, have got taken care of.
They treated my husband awful and now they are harassing him at his new workplace. Dispatch is really awful towards drivers especially the ones in Dublin. I would not recommend anyone work for this awful company. They are not driver friendly.
Been driving for them 6 years now Great pay, see the country
Good place to work. They treat drivers well. Patton logistics is also good place to work
Other then the shop personnel the management has no respect for anyone. Very toxic environment and they bully drivers who are not in their clique. They do whatever they want when they want
Management, policy, integrity, communication, equipment, and safety issues. At times, they will push you at and beyond the limits of safety and what you hired for. Mistakes and ignorance happen, and test your resolve. But 80% of time, OK.
Good for daily home time. Trucks continuously broke down. Had a different truck every week. Start times were early. Fellow drivers were friendly. A
What is the best part of working at the company? They treat you like family. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Getting loads to customers on time
What is the best part of working at the company? They are not family friendly like they claim. They don't like to ay you pto or vacation. Dispatchers in Dublin and Roanoke are complete idiots. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Wethersfield or not I'm going to get paid What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Very bad alot of drama. To many a?? lickers What is a typical day like for you at the company? Sit and wait listen to all the complaints drivers talk about
What is the best part of working at the company? Part time work and paid by the hour What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Your direct manager isn't actually the one who gives you your assignments. If you have a problem you call them then they tell you to call someone else. Not exactly sure what the point of their passion really is. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Confusion with a lot of running around. Left hand don't EVER knows what the right hand is doing. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Show up drive. Hope nothing goes wrong then go home
Watsontown Trucking could be the best trucking company out there if they paid more and treated their drivers with respect. Watsontown would rather micromanage you to death then facing cameras, buzzers going off in the trucks, and you always have someone in management ready to stick a deep knife in your back! It's one of those jobs where any day you could just quit or be fired.
What is the best part of working at the company? The equipment was good. I liked the company was great. I just had medical problems is the only reason I left. The pay was the best I ever received for driving a truck. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The only stress I had was from my diabetes that is why I left. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Friendly and easy going. I liked the company I just needed to get my diabetes under control. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Driving a truck from point A to point B
I've been a driver for Watsontown trucking company for 5 years, my only regret that I didn't find them sooner. It's real simple over here, Do what is asked of you, do what you say you're going to do, and don't hit s***. That said.. you will be fairly compensated paid for every hour you work, overtime with no questions asked. This is the family run company and you will be treated as such.
Great company. Excellent management who are always willing to work with you. Good maintenance program and well maintained equipment. A large variety of customers and locations. The job does not get repetitive
Alot of sitting and waiting on loads to run. and you have to ask what you're doing every day by text. Trucks are constantly broke. Most communication is done via text message and some dispatches won't answer their drivers for up to 24 hrs
Seems to be laid back and easy going. You make you're own schedule and days to work. Very flexible. No forced dispatch makes it nice. Orientation is generally two days and can be quick.
Poor management. Dispatch only cares about loads typically same as other trucking companies. Butter up people you go somewhere. If your a seasoned driver and been in business like myself for 27 yrs. Same trucking company as rest. Equipment repair is a joke. Shop cant fix nothing you'll have descent truck but it'll brake down then you get a piece of junk And not get yours back
I worked for them 2 and half years .I have been a truck driver for 43 years and I can honestly say they were the best trucking company I worked for in my career . They really do care about safety so if you want a good trucking career go to Watsontown trucking .I have retired now . You will drive excellent equipment .
Terrible place to work. I wish I'd have never stayed there as long as I did..if I'd have left sooner I could have made much more money elsewhere. Plus they make you unload freight with no extra pay. They have terrible freight
