Can be a good compnay to work for . 12 hrs shifts gives a lot of time off . Not much room for advancement but I have learned a lot from our techs and it seems to be a overall a decent place

The pay is very good. Expect to work your butt off for it though. Still the best driving job I’ve ever had. Fast growing company. Nothing to really complain about.
XNG provides excellent working conditions for their staff. The work is simple enough and I’m always paid on time. One of the best parts about working for the company is that they’re always making improvements.
There’s always going to be bumps along the way when new management takes the reins. It hasn’t been the smoothest transition, but I believe the company is headed in a positive direction. Guess I’m just an optimist, but I rarely look at short term goals. Instead I look to the future. I think the future of XNG looks bright.
I started with a day shift & was forced to work nights & had my shift start time changed 5 times in 4 months. XNG are only busy 4 months a year, so getting over time is almost impossible.
In the beginning they promise you tons and tons of work with insane overtime (almost like being at one of those weird real estate seminars). They get you in to work and when they dont need you anymore you are S*** on the curb. Favoritism is a big thing is dispatch here. Seniority is non existent. Most of thier drivers cannot drive, seen at least 4 trucks drop transmissions, NONE of the trucks have clutch brakes. They come up with some excuse why they have to lay you off and bam your done. Equipment ALWAYS has issues. Mechanics claim to fix things when in fact nothing gets fixed. Their fix for Freightliner ABS issue is to pull the fuses. Been told to leave trucks in service even though STOP ENGINE LIGHT IS ON and truck had shut down multiple times. Was told it was safe, which is bull****. Only a couple guys at the Montrose location who are honestly way to nice to be stuck there and deserve more. Everyone and everything else is complete garbage. I can keep going forever but hopefully anyone thinking about applying has gotten the point by now. DO NOT
Only get paid for Drive time, only going to get 35 to 45 hours per week and thats during busy months in winter, 24 to 30 hours in the Summer. Management favors people, and little to no accountability
Be carefull, this is a dangerous place to work.
I like working at XNG and have since the day I started. It’s been a good ride so far. It’s a company I want to establish a career at and grow within. That’s right… worked at 7 different companies in just under 10 years before coming here and I’m planning to stay the long-haul. Can’t think of a better reflection on the company culture, growth opportunities, or salary expectations than that. If none of those were in place, I’d be ready to move on in another couple of months..
Very reliable company. Excellent customer service. Willing to go above and beyond for customers (as they should). Reasonable pricing structure.
Good company here.
Had the potential to be one of the best local jobs around, the lack of caring about employee retention really shows through constant turnover. Now their reputation for this issue has affected the ability to obtain quality staff. Upper management could care less if you like your job or what they could do to improve retention.
I hired on for the overnight shift in Charlton, Mass. During the onboarding, I was presented with a very complicated pay schedule with very different pay rates. I was assured that I would make "plenty of money here". Immediately I observed huge red flags. Their tractors are by and large, junk. They never buy new, only buy some other fleet's retired units and slap their stickers on them. The truck I used during my road trip ran like garbage and it totally broke down upon return to the yard. ( The transmission disintegrated ) When I started training I learned that everyone at this terminal had quit within the last year and the longest tenured driver has 7 months on the job. I still gave it a shot and quickly found out that this company is severely broken from the top down. All of their employees hate it there. I got asked " What the heck are you doing here ?" Their systems are bad, their equipment is horrible and all the bosses just quit. They have no safety team and interim bosses just trying to plug the dam. I would go to work and sometimes have to try out up to 4 trucks before I found one that would get the job done. I broke down multiple times and called it quits in the middle of a shift. The pay averaged out to be $26 an hour with overtime after 40 hrs. Nowhere near high enough for hauling hazmat, overnight in all weather, outdoors. If they ever cleaned up their act, the job wouldn't be bad. Goodbye XNG, I kept your cheap hardhat as a souvenir.
I was always honest and reliable with the management, and they treated me well. They put reasonable expectations on me and were compassionate when my family member passed away. They worked with me to make a schedule that matched my home life. The work is demanding than any other truck driving job I’ve had. The worst part of the job was the equipment, but in this economy you can’t expect a company to replace a large fleet overnight. I would go back to them in a minute if I am in need of work!
Management definitely needs work. There is absolutely no balance for a personal life, but if you want great money with no commitment I’d recommend for temporary only. They also set you up nicely when you come out & allow for spouses to accompany. Can’t lie They have great snacks lol
I would not recommend this job to anyone who does not live in the area or anybody who does not like getting paid biweekly they have poor morale and poor route planning at least out of the Charlton location
The management doesn't care about Drivers. They always side with themselves. Yet , without the driver's they wouldn't have a business and that is fact!
The work is easy enough if you know what you’re doing. They pay decent and there’s always opportunities to take on more shifts if you need the money. This is the first company I’ve driven for and so far, I. like it.
They keep things pretty consistent from week-to-week. I’ve got two kids at home, so having a good idea of when I’m going to be on the road and when I’m not helps make things easier for all of us. I know my wife is a lot happier since I started working for XNG. I took a slight cut in pay from my last gig, but they take better care of me.
I drove here for over a decade and never had an issue once. If you already have driving experience this is a good company to work for. They’ll take care of you and make sure you spend more nights at home than not.
Some days are slower than others but this company is mostly fast and dynamic. Friendly coworkers make coming into work very enjoyable and there are various avenues for growth.
It was the people that did it for me. I love who I work with, especially when it comes to management. I come in and they bring the energy even if you’re not bringing it yourself. They want to see you succeed but only if you want it yourself. Training was also pretty good.
All of the techs who work on the trucks are certified and know what they’re doing. As anyone who’s worked as a driver before knows, there’s nothing more important than driving a rig that’s well taken care of. No amount of money in the world is more important than your life at the end of the day.
The pay and hours work with my schedule very well. Easily the best driving job I’ve ever had. They’ve been able to solve the issue most truckers have to deal with – lack of time with family. That’s not a problem you’ll have to deal with at XNG. They’re a top rated company through and through.
This is a trucking company with a unique deal to move natural gas by truck. They have plenty of work and as a truck driver, I would rather see companies move product by truck than by pipeline. There are always guys complaining, but how many truck drivers work for a pipeline? It’s easy, just drive, and hope more companies decide to create trucking jobs.
Work day changes daily sometimes hourly. Substandard equipment poorly maintained equipment. Slip seat program overwhelmed. Pay is fair but hard to maintain do to(read the small print) stipulation in pay program. Not a place for seasoned professional driver. Breakdowns are occurring daily and side of road the time averages 3-8 hrs. depending on your location at the time. Frustration and confusion seem to be the work Mato as no one seems to have an answer for any question asked. In my opinion the office staff and plant manager have there hands tied by executive over reach. Operations manager , Driver manager , and support staff are all good people if they were aloud to apply themselves to there fullest I think it could be a good place to work unfortunately I do not see that happening in the near or distant future.
Promises are made to be broken here, site management are simply puppets of the higher ups. They have been brainwashed and are no longer the humans they used to be. Your life will be greatly impacted by this company and not for the better.
I’d say the pay, they pay really fair. The hours, I could set my flexible hours. And the people (seniors and co-workers) were the best parts of working at Xpress.
I moved out of state , otherwise I would still be with the company. They’re a good employer and I strongly recommend them to other drivers.
As far as driving jobs go, this was one of the better ones. The pay was average but I was home with my family every night and you can’t really put a price on that. I was treated well and never had any issues with the other drivers.
I honestly don’t understand how anyone could complain. The work couldn’t be easier. If you do exactly what you’re told and show up on time it’s a great gig. I guess some people are just lazy… either that or stupid.
You get more than enough hours to pay the bills and management never cuts hours without giving you warning first. They’ve only cut hours once since I joined and that was at the beginning of the pandemic. Since then, we’ve had our regular schedules.
