Only giving them one star because I cannot score it lower than that.

The company is a good place to work, but line haul drivers struggle with limited family time. The most stressful part is working six days a week with only a few hours off. The work environment isn’t bad, though experiences may vary. A typical day involves running 300–500 miles before resting.

If you don’t mind the union and seniority system, Yellow is a decent workplace. The insurance is excellent, covering employees and their families at no cost. However, mergers disrupt seniority rankings and can lead to layoffs. Equipment, including tractors and trailers, isn’t in the best condition, but overall, it’s a solid job.

The best part of working here was the medical benefits, along with a good vacation package. The pay was average, but the coworkers were great. Retirement planning was poorly handled, forcing senior employees to continue working. The exit strategy for longtime employees was inadequate. The work environment was relaxed, with supportive colleagues.

A great company to work for, but outdated in many ways. Delays were common—waiting on freight, trailer doors, and trucks. Slow vehicles made it difficult to stay on schedule, and maintenance issues should have been addressed before trucks were hooked up.

If you want a job with minimal oversight, little responsibility, and plenty of time off, this is the place for you. The benefits are excellent. The most stressful part is uncertainty about whether the company will remain operational. The work environment lacks accountability, and tasks often go unfinished. A typical day feels like nothing happened at all.

Mondays are always busy with safety meetings, coaching sessions, and route planning. The hardest part is when only two employees are working due to others calling in sick. The most enjoyable aspect is completing tasks as a team.

The best parts of the job are the pay and benefits. Road drivers are home daily or every other day, with a great pension and up to six weeks of vacation based on years of service. Some equipment is aging and prone to breakdowns, but otherwise, the company is solid. After two years, employees can work as much as they want and earn full pay. The work environment is straightforward—just do your job, and no one bothers you.

I loved my job, but Yellow is no longer in business. The most stressful part was the bankruptcy, which resulted in 30,000 employees losing their jobs in a single day. Since the company no longer exists, this question is no longer relevant.

The job offered excellent benefits and strong local management. Equipment wasn’t the best but was functional. Unfortunately, the company went bankrupt after years of accumulating debt and acquiring other businesses in an attempt to recover financially. It’s a sad situation for all former employees, and I hope they find stability elsewhere.

The best part of the job was having some autonomy in managing my route. The most stressful aspect was handling numerous stops in a short timeframe while constantly dealing with dispatch. Management was poor, and the work environment lacked teamwork. Communication was ineffective, and policies were rigid. A typical day involved morning meetings, equipment checks, deliveries, and pickups. Lunch came after three hours, followed by short breaks later in the shift. At the end of the day, managers demanded explanations for returned stops before drivers submitted paperwork and logged out.

This was the best job I ever had, with great pay and benefits. I was able to do my work without interference. On-site maintenance ensured truck issues were resolved quickly. Despite nearly a century in business, poor upper management led to the company’s closure in summer 2023.

Management deliberately drove the company into bankruptcy, wasting resources in the process. On the plus side, employees who completed their tasks efficiently were left alone to do their jobs. I’ll miss some of my coworkers, but if the company were to reorganize under a new name, I wouldn’t return.

The job paid well and provided excellent healthcare benefits. The drivers were part of the Teamsters union, one of the few remaining in the industry. Unfortunately, the company recently shut down due to excessive debt accumulated by previous management.
