In the Columbia area of Portland, local police have opened a death investigation. Officers received a call just after 2:30 p.m. about the death of a person in the area of North Victory Boulevard, near the entrance to I-5.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers and paramedics discovered the body of the deceased woman. Portland police detectives were called to assist the medical examiner in the investigation.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been determined, and the cause and manner of death has not yet been determined. An autopsy will be performed to determine that. The incident shocked Columbia area residents and raised concerns about public safety. Authorities have urged residents to remain calm and vigilant while the investigation is ongoing.
The Portland Police Department assured the public that they are doing everything possible to determine the cause of death and bring those responsible to justice. They urged anyone with information about the case to come forward. As the investigation continues, the public will come together to support each other.
