Early Monday afternoon, a semi-truck hauling paired loads was involved in a serious incident on Interstate 40 near Highway 111 in Cokeville, Tennessee. The truck lost control while changing lanes, causing it to overturn and stop, with the tractor and 1st trailer in the middle lane and the 2nd trailer blocking the east side of I-40.
No injuries were reported. The lanes of I-40 east were closed until approximately 9:30 a.m. for cleanup.
This incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers of driving large commercial vehicles on our nation's roads. It is important for drivers to remain vigilant and follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents. Such accidents can cause significant disruption to traffic and commerce, but they can also have much more serious consequences if people are injured or killed.
As we move forward, it is critical that we continue to prioritize safety on our roads and work together to reduce the number of accidents and fatalities that occur each year.
