A fatal gunfire occurred Saturday at 1110 Stanford Rd in Grand Forks, North Dakota, prompting the Grand Forks Police Department to respond to a call about a shooting. The call came in at about 8:57 p.m., and officers rushed to the scene, finding a male victim with a gunshot wound in the building's first-floor hallway.
Although emergency personnel attempted to save the victim's life, he was pronounced dead at Altru Hospital. Police recovered two firearms from the scene and identified everyone involved in the crime. The identity of the deceased man is being withheld until his next of kin are notified.
Police have called the incident an isolated incident and the public is not at risk. Authorities have not made any arrests, and the inquiry is still ongoing. Grand Forks police were assisted by several agencies, including the Grand Forks County Sheriff's Office, the University of North Dakota Police Department, Altru Paramedics and the Grand Forks Fire Department.
