After a two-day manhunt, authorities have finally apprehended the suspect in a fatal shooting that occurred in rural Jacksonville last Thursday. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Michael Wayne Ray, 64, was arrested Saturday at the same home where the shooting occurred.

The incident occurred early Thursday morning when sheriff's deputies were called to a home on Upper Applegate Road after a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found the victim, Jason Mark Kinney, 53, deceased inside the home. Ray was identified as the suspect and his car was found near the scene.

Despite a thorough search by JCSO SWAT and K9 teams, Ray managed to hide until Saturday, when he was finally apprehended in the same house where the shooting took place. Details of his arrest have not been released.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and authorities have yet to reveal a motive for the crime. Our thoughts are with Jason Mark Kinney's family and friends during this difficult time. This tragic event has left the community in shock and disbelief. The victim's family and friends are grieving their loss, and the community is coming together to support them in every way possible. Law enforcement's swift action to apprehend the suspect has brought some clarity to the situation, but many questions still remain unanswered.

In times like these, it is important for communities to come together and support one another. We must stand united against violence and work towards creating a safer and more peaceful society for all. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim's family and friends during this difficult time.
