Police received a call this morning and all forces were dispatched to investigate an accident involving a truck on I-65 in Jackson County. Sadly, the accident resulted in the death of Frederick D. Feldera, the driver of the van, who was heading southbound.

According to the initial police inquiry, the van swerved into the oncoming lane. The truck then collided with trees and a barrier. Rescuers arriving on the scene discovered Felder died in the van.

An inquiry into the accident is ongoing and officials are trying to establish whether the crash itself was the cause of Felder's death or if medical issues played a factor. The police arrived at the scene and pronounced Felder dead. A toxicology study has yet to be completed, but law enforcement officials said they do not suspect that alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident. The right lane of I-65 Southbound was shut down for several hours while authorities investigated and cleared the area of debris.

Frederick Felder's family has been notified of the tragic incident. Felder's family and friends are mourning the loss of their loved one and investigators are working tirelessly to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident. All rescue services have arrived on the scene to assist. This tragic accident serves as a reminder of how important it is to be vigilant and careful on the road, especially in the early morning hours when visibility can be limited and driver fatigue can be a contributing factor to accidents.
