A chaotic scene unfolded in the early hours of Saturday morning in Horace, as the Cass County Sheriff's office responded to a traffic hazard caused by vehicles in the area. What initially seemed like a routine situation quickly escalated when it was discovered that numerous minors were engaged in underage drinking at a nearby residence.
As law enforcement approached the home, several minors who had been consuming alcohol attempted to flee, adding to the confusion and disorder. Despite facing resistance from both the homeowner and other party attendees, the sheriff's office persisted in their efforts to maintain order and ensure the safety of everyone involved.
Realizing the gravity of the situation, authorities obtained a search warrant to thoroughly investigate the premises. To their astonishment, approximately 80 individuals were detained, with 30 minors ultimately being cited for underage drinking. Although the incident took an unfortunate turn with a hit-and-run collision, fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Recognizing the need for additional support, both the West Fargo police and state patrol were called upon to assist at the scene. Their presence helped to restore calm and facilitate a more efficient resolution to the situation.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible behavior and adherence to legal drinking age restrictions. It also highlights the crucial role that law enforcement plays in ensuring public safety and upholding the law.
