Michigan State Police (MSP) reported an incident involving a truck driver hauling automobiles on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred in Monroe County on the I-275 expressway when a car hauler loaded with work vans ran into an overpass, causing damage to the Telegraph Bridge on the southbound lanes of the expressway.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident, and the troopers reported that the damage caused to the bridge was minimal. The accident caused a disruption in traffic flow, and all lanes of the expressway had to be temporarily closed for inspection and repairs

The incident highlights the importance of ensuring that truck drivers adhere to the recommended height limits when transporting cargo. Failure to do so can result in significant damage to infrastructure and lead to costly repairs and traffic disruptions. It also underscores the need for drivers to be vigilant and cautious when driving on the roads to prevent accidents that can cause harm to themselves and others.

After inspection and repair works, all lanes of the I-275 expressway have now been reopened, and traffic flow has returned to normal. The Michigan State Police have advised motorists to exercise caution and follow traffic rules while driving on the expressway to ensure their safety and that of fellow road users.
