Tragedy struck early Sunday morning at the Original Bar and Night Club in Minot, North Dakota, as a fatal shooting killed 32-year-old Grayson Sletto of Willow City. The incident occurred about 1:45 a.m. and led to the arrest of 40-year-old Travis McDermott, who is being held on charges of manslaughter, reckless endangerment and extreme indifference with a weapon.

According to court documents, investigators were able to charge McDermott with the shooting thanks to club surveillance footage. The footage shows Sletto approaching a table where McDermott and his girlfriend were sitting. An exchange of words ensued, which intensified when McDermott drew his gun. Sletto pushed McDermott to the ground, and McDermott responded by firing the gun twice at Sletto, hitting him in the torso.

Bar patrons who witnessed the gunfire quickly detained McDermott until police arrived. Sletto was pronounced dead at 2:12 a.m. The incident sent Minot residents into shock and mourning, with many expressing their condolences and sadness over the tragic loss of life.

This shooting is a reminder of the devastating effects of gun violence and the need for increased efforts to prevent similar incidents in the future. Police and other law enforcement agencies continue to work tirelessly to ensure public safety and prevent similar tragedies. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact the police.
