Police in Oklahoma have issued a warning to drivers to slow down and move over after a major multi-vehicle crash that occurred on March 31 near Catoosa. The accident, which involved a semi truck, a fire truck, and a trooper's cruiser, took place around 4:30 pm on Friday afternoon.

According to reports from the Catoosa Police Department (CPD), the crash occurred as first responders were dealing with a previous rollover crash at Highway 412 and the Creek Turnpike. It's believed that a semi truck struck both a Catoosa Fire truck and an Oklahoma Highway Patrol cruiser, causing extensive damage to both vehicles. The cruiser was completely flattened, but fortunately, no one was physically injured in the incident.

The CPD has expressed their gratitude that all public safety workers were able to scramble to safety and avoid injury, and has sent a special thank you to God that the State Trooper wasn't sitting in the patrol unit at the time of the crash. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

This accident highlights the need for drivers to exercise caution and be aware of their surroundings when on the road. The CPD has urged all motorists to slow down and move over when they see first responders or emergency vehicles on the scene of an accident, as failure to do so could result in serious consequences.

It's important to remember that the safety of those involved in accidents, including emergency responders, is of the utmost importance. By slowing down and moving over when approaching an accident scene, drivers can help ensure that everyone involved remains safe and injury-free.

In conclusion, this accident serves as a reminder that all drivers must be vigilant and exercise caution when on the road, particularly in the presence of emergency vehicles. The CPD's warning to slow down and move over should be heeded by all drivers, as it could mean the difference between a safe journey and a dangerous accident.
