Ohioans are rejoicing at the recent news that one of them won a $252.6 million pre-tax Powerball jackpot. The winning ticket for Wednesday night's drawing was sold at Get Go #3279 in Macedonia. This is the fourth Ohio Powerball jackpot winner since the game began in 2010. The retailer received a $100,000 bonus for selling the jackpot winning ticket.

The Powerball jackpot winner has the choice of receiving the entire amount in installments over several years or a single sum payment of $134.7 million. This is a common dilemma faced by lottery winners who have to choose between getting more money over a longer period of time or less money up front.

Interestingly, the recent Powerball win came after two Mega Millions jackpots were won in New York City. The first jackpot was $483 mln and the second was $20 million. The winning Powerball jackpot numbers were 4-11-21-38-64, the Powerball number was 11 and the Power Play multiplier was 3x.

The Powerball jackpot winner reportedly used an automatic selection feature to select his numbers, which allows the lottery machine to randomly select numbers for the player. The winner has 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim his prize, and so far no one has shown up to claim the jackpot.

The news of the Powerball jackpot win has residents of Ohio excited and anticipating who the lucky winner is and how they plan to use their newfound wealth. While winning a large sum of money can be life-changing, it is important for winners to be responsible and thoughtful in their decision-making to ensure that their newfound wealth is used wisely and for the greater good.
