According to Brooklyn Park police reports, officers were called to the 8100 block of Aster Drive North after receiving a report of a pit bull attacking a girl. Upon arrival, officers found that the dog had pinned the girl against a fence and she was unable to free herself.
Once the girl was able to free herself from the dog, the pit bull began aggressively attacking the officers and the caller. To protect himself and others, one of the officers made the difficult decision to shoot and kill the dog.
The attack left a young girl with bite wounds to her head, but she was treated at the scene and then taken to the hospital. Fortunately, she is expected to make a full recovery.
