A winter storm in western Nebraska turned into a dangerous situation on Saturday evening when a Missouri man was arrested following a road rage accident. Police responded to a report of a threat made by another chauffeur while traffic was slowly exiting I-80 because of the inclement weather. The injured man, who had stopped near a trooper, stated that a semi driver had exited his van, approached their vehicle, and threatened them with a knife.
Officers quickly took action and launched an investigation into the incident. The suspect, identified as Barry Bynum, 67, of St. Clair, Missouri, was located and arrested for making terroristic threats, possessing a deadly firearm while committing a felony, and assault. Bynum was taken in custody and transported to Keith County Prison.
The Nebraska State Patrol is dedicated to ensuring the safety of all drivers on the road, especially during harsh weather conditions. With the winter storm causing slow traffic and difficult driving conditions, it is important to remain calm and patient behind the wheel. Incidents like the one that occurred on Saturday evening can easily escalate into dangerous situations, putting the lives of all involved at risk.
