A recent incident in Sarasota, Florida has highlighted the importance of maintaining calm during parking disputes. On June 14th, police were called to an intersection on North Washington Boulevard and 20th Street after two truck drivers got into a heated argument over parking etiquette.

According to witnesses, one driver was having his trailer unloaded when another driver pulled up and demanded that he move his rig so that the trailer was not blocking the roadway. The first driver refused, and the second driver began to blow his horn and shout obscenities.

The situation escalated when the first driver retrieved a baseball bat and approached the second truck. In response, the second driver showed his gun, but did not point it at anyone. He asked the first driver to back away, and the first driver compiled. Police arrived at the accident shortly after and determined that the driver with the gun had acted reasonably in response to a potential threat. The driver possessed a concealed carry permit, and officers remained on the scene until the first driver's truck was unloaded and he left.
