Canadian authorities have pressed charges against a semi truck driver following an alleged collision involving multiple parked cars. The incident took place in Halifax around 10:30 p.m. on September 6. Investigations conducted by the Halifax Regional Police (HPP) revealed that a 35-year-old semi truck driver struck numerous parked cars in the 5000 block of Hanover Street, resulting in significant damage to the vehicles.

Law enforcement swiftly responded to the scene and upon evaluation, determined that the truck driver was operating the vehicle while impaired. Consequently, the driver was arrested without any resistance.

Fortunately, no wounds were reported as a result of the collision. However, the HPP has officially announced that the truck driver is now facing charges related to impaired driving, operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80mg%, and engaging in dangerous operation of a conveyance.

According to witness statements provided to SaltWire, the two cars found themselves wedged beneath the trailer of the truck. Shockingly, the truck continued its trajectory, dragging the trapped vehicles along as it proceeded up an incline. The situation escalated as the truck collided with an additional four cars, ultimately causing one of the vehicles to collide with a power pole.
