Authorities took into custody a suspect who was found in possession of a short-barreled revolver while patrolling the Eliot and Lloyd neighborhoods. North Precinct officials were patrolling the NE Schuyler Avenue and NE Grand Avenue neighborhoods when they noticed a man who was frequently seen in the area. Upon questioning, it was discovered that there were several arrest warrants out for the individual. During the search, police found a short-barreled rifle, 25 .22 caliber bullets and "drug paraphernalia." The area has a range of incidents involving drug trafficking, drug use, assaults, thefts, unlawful hiking and gun threatening.

The suspect was transported to the Multnomah County Detention Center where he faces outstanding warrants and several felony firearms charges. This incident underscores the importance of police patrols in high-risk areas to ensure public safety. It also serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by illegal firearms and the need for strict gun control.

The police is to be commended for its swift action in apprehending a suspect and removing dangerous weapons from city streets. Public safety should always be the top priority, and incidents like this show that law enforcement officers work tirelessly to keep our neighborhoods safe. We must all work together to prevent future incidents and promote a culture of safety for all.
