A dramatic incident occurred over the weekend in Northern California when an SUV hit a house, injuring 1 man. The accident happened Sunday close to Colfax, a small town approximately 45 miles from Sacramento. The chauffeur of the car had to be removed from under the wreckage and taken to the hospital for medical attention, according to Cal Fire.

The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time, but fire officials confirmed that none of the occupants were injured during the incident. Emergency crews quickly worked to stabilize the canopy on which the car had fallen, using a rope system to ensure the safety of all involved. Firefighters, a tech rescue crew, the California Highway Patrol, and an American Medical Response ambulance crew participated in the salvage operation. Pacific Gas Electric also shut off power to the region for the duration of the operation to prevent further accidents.

Police are currently investigating the cause of the accident and how the SUV ended up on the 2nd floor of the house. While this incident is certainly unusual, it is not uncommon for cars to crash into buildings, especially when the driver loses control of their vehicle.

Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in this case, and the rapid response of emergency crews helped prevent further damage. As always, you need to be careful when driving, especially in residential areas where houses and other structures are close to the road. By staying vigilant and driving safely, we can all help prevent accidents like this one in the future.
