A tragic accident occurred Saturday evening in Marion County that left a fifteen-year-old with hurts incompatible with life. The Marion County Sheriff's Office said the one-vehicle overturning accident occurred shortly before 11 p.m. on Lancaster Drive Northeast, just north of Silverton Road Northeast. When sheriff's deputies reached the scene, they located the chauffeur and a fifteen-year-old passenger. Unfortunately, the 2nd passenger reportedly fled the scene. The fifteen-year-old was immediately booked to the emergency room and is currently in emergency condition. The chauffeur was also booked to the emergency room for evaluation and was later taken into custody and placed to the Marion County Jail. The driver has been recognized as twenty-year-old Fernando Guzman Guzman, who now faces charges of DUI and 2nd-degree assault.

MCSO is still investigating the incident and is asking the public for info. Anybody with info about the accident or who knows the whereabouts of the third man in the vehicle is requested to call Todd Sfoon at 503-798-8319 or report anonymous information by texting TIPMCSO to 847411. This tragic case serves as a reminder of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
