As they proceeded to enter the premises, they heard a gunshot.

When the police went inside the house, they discovered the body of a person with a self-inflicted gunshot injury. Furthermore, they discovered another man that had been severely decomposed in an adjacent bedroom. According to Gilliland, the time frame for the body's decomposition was more than half a year. An autopsy is currently scheduled for the decomposed body.
