Daimler Truck North America Announces Innovative Battery Recycling Plan at ACT Expo

At this year's ACT Expo in Las Vegas, Daimler Truck North America made a significant announcement regarding their plans to recycle battery packs used for electric trucks. The company's plan encompasses a comprehensive approach to managing lithium-ion batteries, including repairing, recycling, repurposing, and ultimately recycling the materials. According to Rakesh Aneja, vice president of the company, such a strategy will not only allow the recovery of lithium-ion battery materials but also reduce the consumption of new resources.

In a strategic move, Daimler Truck North America has partnered with Li-Cycle to enable the recycling of batteries that cannot be reused. Through a safe and environmentally friendly process, up to 95% of the battery material can be recovered, further minimizing waste and maximizing resource efficiency.

Arkansas truck drivers now have access to a cutting-edge safety alert system right in their cabs, thanks to a collaboration between the Arkansas Department of Transportation and the Trucking Association.Through the Drivewyze truck network, drivers will receive real-time alerts and warnings that will help them navigate safely, avoid accidents, and optimize their routes. This innovative system is specifically designed to provide drivers with ample time to react in emergency situations and stay informed about potential hazards. In addition, there will be the ability to receive virtual signs during bad weather conditions to prepare for special traffic circumstance.
