A tragic incident occurred in Arizona on May 18th, where a construction worker lost his life after being thrown from a boom lift. The accident took place at approximately 1:30 a.m. in Guadalupe, Arizona, on westbound I-10 at Guadalupe Road. According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the accident happened in an area where the #1 and #2 lanes were closed for construction. The construction boom lift came out of the closure and crossed the #3 and #4 lanes, attempting to reach the right shoulder. Unfortunately, a semi-truck collided with the operator cage of the boom lift, throwing the operator from the cage.

The victim was immediately transported to the hospital but could not be saved and was pronounced dead later on. According to a report by Fox 10, the identity of the deceased has not yet been released. Thankfully, no other injuries were reported in the accident. However, the truck's trailer was also damaged in the incident.

This unfortunate incident highlights the importance of safety in construction zones and ensuring that equipment is in good working order. It is crucial for workers to be aware of their surroundings and take necessary precautions while working on busy highways. Furthermore, drivers should stay vigilant and follow traffic rules while driving through construction zones to avoid such tragic incidents. The loss of life in this incident is a reminder of the need for everyone to prioritize safety and exercise caution while on the highway.
