In a devastating incident that took place on Wednesday afternoon in Gary, Indiana, a truck driver lost his life after being crushed by his own tractor trailer. The fatal accident occurred on August 23rd, just moments before 2:20 p.m., on the 1000 block of Colfax Street.
According to the Gary police, the 45-year-old truck driver was situated behind his vehicle, in the process of opening the trailer doors, when unexpectedly the rig began to roll. As the truck started moving, the driver valiantly attempted to prevent the truck from rolling further, but unfortunately, he became ensnared in the tragic series of events and was ultimately crushed. NWI Times reported this harrowing account.
The driver was tragically trapped between the GMC pickup truck and the trailer, with the weight and force being fatal. The immediate response from emergency services was unable to save his life, and he succumbed to the injuries sustained in the accident.
At present, the identity of the truck driver has not been disclosed, respecting the family's privacy during this difficult time. The police authorities are actively investigating the incident to understand the circumstances leading up to this heartbreaking incident.
