On the morning of May 4, Indiana State Police (ISP) was called to respond to a car rollover accident that happened in Martinsville, Indiana. The accident occurred at about 8 a.m. when Dwonte J. Dilosa was driving a truck southbound on I-69 accompanied by a driving instructor in the cab. According to ISP, the truck went off the roadway near mile marker 138 and collided with the median before hitting a guardrail and overturning in the northbound lane of the highway.
Fortunately, both Dilosa and his riding instructor were wearing seatbelts and sustained only minor injuries as a consequence of the crash. Nevertheless, the accident caused significant disruption to traffic: traffic on both lanes of I-69 was closed for about four hours while crews cleaned up debris and spilled fuel from the accident scene. All lanes were reopened by noon.
Several agencies responded to the accident, including the Martinsville Fire Department, the Martinsville Police Department, the Morgan County Sheriff's Office and the Indiana State Police Commercial Motor Vehicle Division. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation, and authorities are urging drivers to be careful and obey traffic laws to avoid accidents on the road.
