Police are seeking the public's assistance after a young girl was shot and killed Monday. The incident occurred at an apartment complex located in the 1000 block of SE 190th Avenue. Police received a report of 15 shots fired, which promptly responded to the scene. Upon arrival, the 1st officer observed an ongoing commotion, followed by another round of gunfire. Due to the intense situation, extra officers and Multnomah County Sheriff's deputies were called to the scene.
Despite the difficult situation, officers were able to get into the complex and found a juvenile girl with a gunshot wound. The neighborhood was still considered active, so the girl was gently removed from the site until paramedics arrived and transported her to a nearby hospital. On Wednesday, Gresham police reported that one juvenile was taken into custody for attempted murder. However, the inquiry is still underway and anybody with info is requested to contact the Police Department at 503-618-2719.
