In the early morning hours of June 3, an accident involving a semi-truck on the 210 Freeway in Monrovia, California, turned into a chaotic theft situation. The Amazon truck was traveling westbound on 210 Freeway near Myrtle Avenue when it smashed into a side wall, causing part of the barrier to collapse. The force of the impact was so severe that it threw the female driver of the truck, who fell into the car lane. Debris flew around the accident scene and caused 2 other cars to crash. The bags the Amazon truck was carrying fell from the embankment into the area below the freeway. Shortly after the accident, emergency services arrived on the scene and delivered the seriously injured truck operator to a near hospital. The other operator, who was taken to the hospital, suffered minor injuries and his current condition is unknown. The accident caused significant congestion on the highway, and it took several hours to clear the debris.

Unfortunately, as the packages fell to the ground, some citizens began stealing them. This theft prompted police to cordon off the scene to prevent further thefts. The packages found were later taken to a nearby Amazon fulfillment center. It is not known how many packages were stolen or their value.

The accident caused significant damage to the curb and it is unknown how long it will take to repair. The California Department of Transportation has advised drivers to be careful when driving in the area and to obey traffic laws. Incidents like this one underscore the importance of following the rules of the road and being aware of the potential risks when driving on the road. It is also a reminder to be careful with other people's property and avoid participating in criminal activity. The theft of scattered bags not only caused additional damage to victims, but also endangered the lives of residents who took to the freeway to steal bags.
