Early morning house fire area of Portland, Oregon. The incident occurred shortly before 1am on Wednesday when crews received a call about a house fire in southwest Hillsborough. Arriving on the scene, first responders found the three-storey house engulfed in flames, with smoke escaping through the roof. The steep slope made it difficult for firefighters to contain the fire, which had started both inside and outside the house.
Crews worked diligently to extinguish the fire, which took about 45 minutes. Fortunately, all residents of the house were able to evacuate safely and no one was injured.
PF&R is currently investigating the cause of the fire, which at the moment remains unknown. Although no official details are yet available, there is speculation that the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit or a cooking accident. Authorities are expected to provide more information after the investigation is completed. Meanwhile, residents of the area have expressed gratitude to the firefighters for their quick response and valiant efforts to contain the fire.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of fire safety and that homeowners should ensure that their properties are equipped with working smoke alarms and fire extinguishers.
