When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found the massive 110,000 square foot building fully engulfed in flames. The building, located near the I-5/I-205 interchange, was valued at $1.8 million according to Clark County Assessment records. It housed several contracting businesses, which suffered significant losses due to the fire.
To contain the blaze, firefighters from both Vancouver Fire and Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue established a defensive strategy to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby buildings. A second alarm was called to bring in additional resources. Despite their efforts, the estimated loss from the fire has not yet been determined.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the fire. However, the cause of the blaze remains unknown and is currently under investigation.
The impact of this fire on the local community cannot be understated. The loss of these businesses will have ripple effects throughout the area, affecting not only the owners and employees but also their families and customers. It serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety measures and the need for businesses to have contingency plans in place in case of emergencies.
