A tragic accident occurred June 1 in Dayton, Ohio, when a large truck crashed into a guardrail and flew off a bridge, as captured by Ohio Department of Transportation (DOT) cameras. The incident occurred around 4 a.m. on northbound I-75 as Ontario residents Jason Loyer, 34, and Ricky Loyer, 59, were driving on the highway. The truck struck a guardrail on the east side of the highway, causing it to drive onto the side of a bridge and crash into a sign post and pole. Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene and attempted to extract the two men from under the wreckage. Unfortunately, Jason and Ricky died as a result of the incident. Crews were still on the scene for several hours after the accident, and all three lanes of traffic were closed for some time. The cause of the accident is still being studied by local authorities. Police are looking at all possible factors that may have contributed to the accident, including driver error, mechanical failure and road conditions. It is a reminder of the dangers of highway driving and the importance of following caution and traffic rules to prevent similar accidents in the future.
