Over the weekend, Portland Fire Rescue were called to a commercial fire on Grand Avenue. The incident occurred in the early afternoon, and it was reported that an auto shop in northeast Portland had been damaged by the flames. Firefighters arrived on the scene and saw that the fire had started outside the building before spreading indoors. The situation was exacerbated when a portable toilet outside of the shop caught fire, causing the flames to intensify. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the blaze, but the extent of the damage remains unknown.

We took this video from KPTV FOX 12 Oregon YouTube Channel.

After conducting a brief investigation into the cause of the blaze, authorities suspect that "houseless activity" may have been involved. The exact details of the incident are still being examined, and it is unclear whether or not any tents were involved in the blaze. This is not the first time that "houseless activity" has been linked to fires in Portland, as the city has struggled with homelessness for many years.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety and preparedness. While it is impossible to prevent every fire from occurring, there are steps that individuals and businesses can take to reduce their risk. This includes having working smoke detectors installed, developing an evacuation plan, and ensuring that all electrical appliances are in good working order. By taking these precautions, people can help to minimize the damage caused by fires and keep themselves and their loved ones safe.
