In the early hours of Wednesday, a massive fire broke out in an office building located in the West Portland Park neighborhood. The blaze was reported just before 3:30 a.m., and the Portland Fire Rescue crews were immediately dispatched to the site. Upon arrival, the first crews found that the building's roof was engulfed in flames, and heavy smoke was billowing out of the structure. Due to the severity of the situation, a second alarm was called to bring in additional resources. The firefighting team had to use aerial streams to extinguish the fire since there was no roof on the building. According to PF&R, the water was continuously flowing from above for 75 minutes, and the fire was almost completely put out. The crews remained on the scene throughout the morning to watch out for any hot spots that might reignite the flames.

We took this video from KPTV FOX 12 Oregon YouTube Channel.

PF&R Public Information Officer, Rick Graves, spoke to FOX 12 and confirmed that the building's structural stability was not compromised due to the interior center hallway. Therefore, there was no concern of collapse with the building. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but authorities have confirmed that no one was inside the building at the time of the incident. Additionally, no injuries have been reported, and the firefighting team was able to contain the fire before it could spread to nearby buildings. The incident has caused significant damage to the building, and the authorities have warned the public to stay away from the area until the investigation is complete.

The landlord and the tenants of the building have been notified, and they are working closely with the authorities to determine the extent of the damage and the next steps. The incident has highlighted the importance of having an efficient firefighting system in place. The quick response of the Portland Fire Rescue crews and their ability to contain the fire prevented it from causing more damage. The authorities have also reminded the public to be vigilant and take necessary precautions to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
