In a tragic incident announced by the Gresham Police Department on Friday, a fatal gunfire claimed one life in the city. As the time neared 3:30 p.m., law enforcement responded quickly to a disturbing report of a shooting in the 300 block of Southeast 162nd Avenue. Officers arrived on the scene and found a male suffering from a severe gunshot wound, who unfortunately died from his injuries with no chance of recovery. The lifeless body lay motionless and was imbued with a sense of grief and sadness.

We took this video from KPTV FOX 12 Oregon YouTube Channel.

A FOX 12 television crew on the scene witnessed a flurry of police action targeting a specific apartment. According to eyewitness accounts relayed to the crew, multiple gunshots were heard coming from the aforementioned apartment on Friday afternoon. The Gresham Police Department, wasting no time, took two people into custody in connection with the shooting. However, the police refrained from announcing the specific charges, if any, that may be filed against the men.

To get to the bottom of this tragic event, the Major Crimes Unit has launched an intensive inquiry into the shooting, treating it as an alleged murder. In the search for justice, the police department is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any valuable information to come forward by calling a special tip line at (503) 618-2719. Cooperation between law enforcement and the public is essential to investigate the circumstances leading up to the death, to assist grieving relatives, and to ensure the safety of Gresham residents in the face of such unfortunate acts of violence.
