In a tragic incident that unfolded in the Hollywood Neighborhood of Portland last week, authorities have now identified the victim of a deadly shooting. The Portland Police Bureau (PPB) revealed that the incident occurred in the early hours close to the intersection of Northeast Sandy Boulevard and Northeast Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard, around 2:20 a.m. The sound of gunfire caught the attention of North Precinct officers who were patrolling the area at the time.

Responding swiftly, the officers proceeded to the scene and discovered a severely damaged vehicle that had collided with a pole close to the intersection of Northeast Broadway and Northeast Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard. As they approached the wreckage, a grim discovery awaited them. The lifeless body of the driver, identified as 29-year-old Fortressen O. Oriakhi from Gresham, was found inside the vehicle. The passenger, whose identity has not been disclosed, was critically injured and immediately rushed to the hospital for urgent medical treatment. Their condition remains life-threatening, and the PPB is closely monitoring their recovery.

As the investigation into this heinous crime unfolds, authorities are actively seeking leads and information that could help bring the perpetrators to justice. At present, no arrests have been made, and the motive behind the shooting remains unknown. The PPB urges anyone with even the slightest piece of information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
