Kenosha cops were driving behind a vehicle Tuesday evening when he noticed its rim sparking and leaving a trail of fire ahead of him. A few moments later, the vehicle erupted into flames. The officer immediately alerted his colleagues and stopped the vehicle on the side of the road. The driver of the car was an 84-year-old man named Donald Schmelling, who heard his wheel pop and was trying to get home. Unfortunately, sparks from the rim inflamed the car, and the fire quickly engulfed the minivan.

We took this video from Sky News YouTube Channel.

Schmelling stopped in front of the chapel, and cops arriving on the scene rushed to the flaming minivan to save it. The escape was captured on footage and shows officers pulling Schmelling off the flaming vehicle, which probably protected himself. According to Kenosha Police Lt. Joseph Nosalick, "Officers are training to flee toward harm in the name of keeping the public safe and saving lives."

Schmelling was lucky to get away with a minor bruise on his forehead. After he got out of the van, officers put him in a patrol car and drove him to safety. Schmelling's jacket and head were burned, but he survived thanks to the quick action of the Kenosha cops. Nosalik expressed his amazement that Schmelling lived and thanked the Kenosha police for being in the right location at the right moment to provide assistance. The bravery and quick thinking of the cops rescued Schmeling's life and prevented a potentially catastrophic situation from worsening.

This incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of driving and the importance of being prepared for emergencies. It is important to follow safety protocols, such as checking your tires and brakes regularly, and to have a plan in place in case of an emergency.
