A maintenance workman in North Dakota has been saved after he became overwhelmed by heat exhaustion while working inside a water tower. The incident occurred in the northern part of the state and was reported to Bowbells firefighters just after 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Reports indicate that the man was performing service work on the water tower when he suddenly suffered bodily exhaustion and was unable to continue. The Bowbells volunteer fire department received a call about the incident and immediately responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered that the worker was trapped inside the water tower and needed immediate assistance.

We took this video from iNewZ TV YouTube Channel.

Firefighters and a bystander, who happened to be an electric line worker and volunteered to help, worked together to pull the male out of the tower via ropes and pulleys. After being rescued, the worker was examined by first responders and was capable of descending the tower on his own. It is unclear what caused the worker to become overwhelmed by heat exhaustion, but it is possible that he was not properly hydrated or did not take enough breaks while working inside the water tower. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of taking proper safety precautions when working in hot environments. Heat exhaustion can occur quickly and without warning, especially in confined spaces like water towers. Workers should take frequent breaks, stay hydrated, and wear appropriate clothing to help prevent heat exhaustion and other heat-related illnesses.

In addition, it is important for employers to provide adequate training and resources to their workers to help them stay safe on the job. This includes providing access to water and shade, as well as educating workers on the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion. By taking these steps, we can help ensure that workers stay safe and healthy while performing their jobs, even in challenging environments like water towers.
