A harrowing incident unfolded in Seffner, Florida, on the morning of July 28th, resulting in a motorist being charged with driving under the influence (DUI) after a catastrophic wrong-way crash involving multiple cars and two semi trucks. The collision occurred around 3:40 a.m., leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

According to information reported by Patch Tampa, a Lexus SUV was traveling in the wrong direction on Interstate 4 near mile marker 10 when it collided head-on with a westbound Mercedes in the inside lane. The force of the impact sent shockwaves through the traffic, causing a pickup truck in the center lane to abruptly brake in an attempt to avoid the initial wreck. Unfortunately, a flatbed semi truck behind the pickup truck failed to stop in time, resulting in a rear-end collision. The pickup truck was violently spun and crashed into another semi truck that was parked on the shoulder of I-4. The force of the collision caused the flatbed semi truck to overturn, trapping the trucker inside.

Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene, and three drivers involved in the crash were transported to the hospital with injuries that were deemed non-life-threatening. It remains unclear whether any of the injured individuals were truck drivers, and the specific details of their injuries have not been disclosed. Authorities wasted no time in taking action against the wrong-way motorist responsible for the devastating crash. Arda Sengun, a 22-year-old individual, was arrested and charged with DUI with serious bodily injury. The severity of the incident necessitated the closure of westbound I-4 for nearly five hours, causing significant traffic disruptions and delays.
