High winds caused havoc on an Arizona highway Thursday afternoon, causing several semi-trucks to overturn. The incident occurred near New Hope, Arizona, on I-10, where nine semi-trucks overturned between mile markers 46 and 48. The wind force was so strong that three trucks traveling in the eastbound lane were overturned and six others were overturned in the westbound lane. Five people were injured in the collisions, two of whom were seriously injured. On Friday morning, the Arizona Department of Transportation issued an update that the eastbound lane of the I-10 freeway is open and the right westbound lane remains blocked.

Authorities are urging drivers to use caution and be mindful of the potential dangers of high winds on the roads. In Arizona, where dust storms and monsoons are common during the summer months, it is important for drivers to remain alert and take the necessary precautions when traveling in inclement weather. To ensure their safety and the safety of other road users, it is critical for drivers to be aware of their surroundings and adapt their driving habits accordingly.
