In the early hours of Thursday afternoon, a hit and run crash caused chaos on Northeast Rodney Avenue in Portland. Police were called to the scene just after 4:30 a.m. and discovered that a dump truck had crashed into several vehicles before coming to a stop. The driver of the truck had fled the scene, leaving the damaged vehicles behind. Further investigations revealed that the dump truck, along with a trailer and gear, had been stolen from a near construction zone on Northeast Rodney Avenue. The thief had taken advantage of the early morning hours to make their move, and the stolen vehicle was soon wreaking havoc on the streets of Portland. Police reported that the dump truck had crashed into at least four cars, causing significant damage. 2 or 3 of the vehicles are likely to be written off due to the severity of the collision. The dump truck also damaged a residential retaining wall, adding to the total cost of the incident. Despite the best efforts of the authorities, the suspect remains at large. No arrests were made, and police are appealing to the public for any information that may help in their search.
