A fatal accident occurred in the Hazelwood neighborhood of southeast Portland early Sunday morning, leaving one man killed and another seriously injured. The Portland Police Bureau responded to reports of a collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck at the intersection of Southeast Stark Street and Southeast 139th Avenue at approximately 1 a.m. The driver of the motorcycle was found dead at the scene, while the passenger was transported to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

Local residents reported hearing a loud noise that sounded like metal being crushed, prompting them to investigate the commotion. Upon arriving at the scene, they saw that a motorcycle and a pickup truck had collided, resulting in the death of one person and serious injuries to another.
The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with police. No one in the truck sustained any injuries. The intersection of Southeast Stark Street and Southeast 139th Avenue was closed for several hours in all directions as police conducted their investigation.
