A tragic incident occurred outside a bar located in the Foster-Powell neighborhood, resulting in the death of one person and injuring another. The Portland Police Bureau was immediately notified of the shooting incident at Red’s Bar Grill, situated at 7025 Southeast Foster Road, and they reacted quickly to the call.
TUpon their arrival at the scene, officers discovered a man who had been shot in the parking lot. Despite receiving medical attention and being taken to an area hospital, the man succumbed to his injuries and passed away. The authorities have not released the victim's identity to the public.
The police also learned that another shooting victim, a male, had arrived at a nearby hospital by private vehicle. Fortunately, his gunshot wound was not life-threatening. The investigators later determined that he was also shot outside the bar.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the police have not disclosed any information regarding the suspect or suspects involved in the incident. However, the homicide detectives have taken over the case and are actively investigating the matter. For this reason, Southeast Foster Road, between Southeast 70th Avenue and Southeast 72nd Avenue, will be closed to the public during the investigation.
The incident has left the community in shock and mourning. The police have requested anyone with information to come forward and assist with the investigation. The tragedy serves as a reminder of the need for community members to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. The police have assured the public that they are doing everything in their power to ensure that justice is served, and the perpetrator or perpetrators are brought to book.
